Unlocking the Gate to Enlightenment Reliquishing the Known Ultimatums

in #life8 years ago (edited)

I woke up finding myself in front of a gate bearing two gatekeepers protruding from it:

The one on the left-side of the gate was a monk. His expression was partial, content with elements of frustration surrounding him. It was as if he was doing his best to be in peace as his wall crumbled. In my mind, he represented simplicity; my inner pursuits for peace; my life's goal to become a true altruist, my sense of compassion. Embracing him was a woman. She looked cheerful with her smile but her purpose here was to defend the monk from the action made by the other gatekeeper on the right...

My eyes darted over to see a masked warrior wearing an armor from a tradition or personal style I've never seen before. The way his eyes took notice of my presence, cold and stern, in my mind he represented experience of despair, lack of true love, and natural seclusion. His answer to feel alive required expressing his frustration rather than bottle it in. To truly depict his feelings, a dragon with glowing red eyes crept behind him from the scarlet red wall's cracks. Snarling at me.

I couldn't resist seeing the activity happening in my peripheral vision, and took a quick look to my left: The collapsing golden background revealed a sky. It appeared heavenly. It was surreal due to the fact that there's supposed to be no skies, let alone golden clouds, this close to the earth's surface.

From what I could tell, as I look to the warrior's wall, it was plain, dark, blowing a chilling breeze, lifeless.

As the gate slowly opened up, and the two gatekeeper's appearances were starting to transform from colored concrete to vibrant living beings, albeit slow in motion but fully animated, survival ended up being the name of the game for the gatekeeper on the right. Harmony was the name of the game for the gatekeeper on the left.

Things were getting intense. The gatekeeper on the right summoned one blade, just as complex and detailed as his armor. WIth that blade, it struck the monk with full force. However, it was stopped thanks to the woman caressing the face and arms of the monk. With just a touch, she summoned a ring of energy in the shape of a heart around it.

I figured I didn't want to be in the hands of the one on the right, so I thought to myself: "I'd rather find love than find war." As if the gatekeepers read what I was thinking, their eyes started glowing as bright as the sun. The warrior was not pleased of this decision and stretched his blade further towards the monk, all the energy behind him was pushing a ton more than the monk or the woman could bush away.

With all his might, the gatekeeper on the right had that perserverance similar to someone who fought for his survival all his life. He wanted to stay existing. His ignorance was coming in full swing, not realizing that both he and the his opponents will no longer exist in a second or two.

Keep in mind: The warrior was designed to be this way. The monk was designed to be this way; accepting his fate for what it was going to happen in a little bit. As the gold and red gates crept open, uniquely only show the lit road up ahead, I fixed my eyes and started walking.

All what stood in front of me now was a meadow. I could hear no one but the warrior shriek in both anger and sorrow for losing his life. He was strong to the bitter end, but his ignorance need not to stay within my mind any longer.

I found my serenity.

I felt like my mind was free from all troubles.

I then woke up, and found myself in a meditation classroom.

All I could think about was what I wrote on my phone's reminder:

"I had to get home and paint what I envisioned today."

Great story! Drew me in quickly, and I loved the twist and the end. Nice job!
