Ex-millionaire for over 20 years living on an uninhabited island in Australia

Previously, the state of David Glashen was estimated at almost $ 30 million, but he considers the happiest period of his life to be a time when he does not need money.

73-year-old ex-millionaire David Glashen has lived on an uninhabited island in Australia for more than 20 years and considers this time the happiest in his life. The man moved to the island after he lost his fortune on the stock exchange in 1987. Then it was estimated at 28.4 million dollars.

  • Most of all I like that here you live in peace and enjoy nature - it's just a beautiful place in the remote part of the country, which most people do not know about. I love it, "David said.

Before moving to the island, the man confessed, he was fixated on money, and his marriage was on the verge of collapse. Now he lives in a small house with his dog Polly, and the only thing that he lacks is a woman who would share his lifestyle.

Agree money can't buy happiness, but makes being poor a lot easier!!

Money can't by happiness but I'd rather cry in a Ferrari. =)

Money only helps happiness along if you have the happiness within yourself already. :)

Good story and I agree that money does not buy happiness. Not sure I could live alone (even with my dog) without some human companionship, but if he's happy, that's great for him.

What does he do with the doll in the photo???
Please don't answer

I need a deserted island my self !!

I am American and people from different parts of the world don't seem to near as materialistic as Americans.

That's so cool, do you know what exact island he lives on?

I dont know

I often wonder if i could just checkout like that? With no worries...

Good story thanks for sharing!

I wish I could live like that one day.

Awesome post @maxer27 . That would be paradise living in complete peace. That man may have lost his wealth but ended up gaining the best life one could ask for.

Who needs money .... upvoted

Amazing story. Thanks for sharing!

Being in nature is freedom!

Wow, I'm glad he found happiness.
