Called the Yall Ayers Rock (also known as Uluru), this stone is located in the Western Australian desert in central Australia, in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Because of its close proximity to Australia's geographic center, it has a reputation of "66 Australian Hearts" and is also listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.
Ayers Rock about 3 km long, 2 km wide, tall Brigade 348 meters, the perimeter is close to 10 km. It is the largest single rock in the world (monolithic rock) because of its high east-west width and narrow west-setting. Someone may wonder if it really is rock instead of a mountain? That's right, despite the huge size, others are truly separate rocks.
Giant volume, steep rock walls, from afar, you will be imposing for its magnificent momentum. It is hard to imagine and hard to believe that what we see is just the tip of the iceberg in Ayers Rock. A larger part of it is hidden beneath the surface, about 6 kilometers deep!
Ayers Rock is mainly composed of gravel, the surface of the rock with high iron content due to oxidation and redness. Amazingly, Ayers Rock is still a "magic stone" that will change color. With the change of daylight and weather, the rocks will show different colors: the rocks are light red as the sun rises, turn into orange at noon; Dark red when the sun sets: the night turned yellow brown;
The top of the rock is about 6 meters deep with channels formed by the impact of water and the ridges and craters formed by the erosion. At the bottom of the rock are blisters and caves painted with Aboriginal paintings.
Ayers Rock is sacred and inviolable in the hearts of local Aboriginal people. They do not want tourists to climb the Ayers Rock, but there are still some thrilling tourists who climb rocks. Statistics show that at least 35 people died as a result of recreational climbing. On November 1 this year, the National Parks Committee voted unanimously to ban the climbing of Ayers Rock. The ban will come into effect in October 2019.
