Motivational Mondays - It's Not all Wishful Thinking

in #life7 years ago

“ I live in reality, and all of that is just a dream”

This type of atitude can be found among people quiet easily and while it fells good to be seen as a realist, this atitude is in many cases a defence mechanism.

Let me give you an example:

There is a very famous Tv show set in a medieval fantasy world. It's a very popular show that you might have heard about. In this show there is an actor who happens also to be a midget.

Once he was asked, how did he felt regarding his lucky, being in the show and all… his answer went something like this: “Luck?! You don’t know what I have been through, most of my life I'be been stuck in poverty, while listening to family and friends telling me to come back to reality, that I would never be an actor and I should stop dreaming and wasting my time”

For everyone around him, his acting career was a completely outrageous endeavour... that could only end in disappointment... "Come back to reality" They told him... Well, now his a main character in the biggest show on TV and makes a few million dollars per episode while doing what he loves.

Today’s world is indeed saturated with empty self encouragement, fake advise, unrealistic expectations and unmeasured hypocritical positive posture .

Yes that is true, but that does not mean that taking action towards your life mission is far from reality. “Come back to reality” has never helped our species move forward.

In fact it is usually the people who defy reality that accomplish the most and impact the lives of they+re loved ones and the world.

Maybe your environment has made you a think like this. Maybe nobody you know has ever really done anything important or different with their lives.

But this mind set is really a product of your experiences, you think life is like this and there is nothing you can do about.

In some cases that is true, there are some true victims out there that can not change their situation, like if you where sold into slavery, if your part of the untouchable casta in India or if you are a child warrior in Africa… however if you are reading this , that is probably not your case.

You might have lived your all life in a particular set of parameters but it does not have to be like that.

It does not have to be like that!! It's really pre conceived and fabricated opinions that we accept and believe they are absolute truths.

Plus even if nobody was ever , ever was able to create a life they liked while leaving a legacy, even if that was the case wouldn't it be worth to try?

We only have this life...

As always, thank you for reading.
