Girls girls girls!! Oops, I mean beer beer beer!!

Saturday again and it's not just any old Saturday, it's the start of Oktoberfest!! Of course you know what that is dontcha? It's the big German beery celebration where everybody drinks giant steins of beer because of something or other. Sounds magic.

That makes me very excited. So excited I thought I must get a beer which can truly give me that Oktoberfest vibe, what did I get?

How about...

Dog madness!! A 5.8% Oktoberfest style beer From The Flying Dog Brewery in Maryland in the US of A. A fabulously named beast it must be said. However, given that they also brew the inimitable doggy style beer which I wasn't fond of before makes me a little feart!

Look at that! It puts like a wooden table leg! Rich and brown'y red. It looks good and...

It's flipping magic!! Is this what they are drinking in Munich? Let me at it, I wants an in. It's very malty with a toffee-esque sweetness. It's not a silly sweetness but a big boy beer sweetness. Jings, I could quaff this to mcbuggery! 8/10

Next up is the fabulous looking

Oops, I have gone and done it again. Comparing a porter to a regular beer. Dash it, will I never learn? This is a 6.5% from the Fierce brewery in Scotland. One of my favourite breweries actually.

Pours like squid ink, claims to be a coffee and vanilla porter. Well I can smell it already. It's very vanilla-ish.

20170916_200100.jpg

I give it a good slurp. Man it's smokey and burnt coffee and all sorts of funky shit in a good way but... but... Damned if that vanilla isn't a bit overpowering. It's nice at offsetting the bitterness but it does it too much. It's almost like an ice cream taste which doesn't sit too well. About half way down I am still on the fence. I am on the fence so hard that the spikes are getting right intimate.

Dang, can't get away from it. It's not that great. Because of the smoky coffee I will give it a 6/10

Fortunately I have more Dogtoberfest!! I am going to get stuck into them and see how drunk I can get whilst pretending to be sober.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Cheers!

Noticed the fine I&G in another reply. :-)

IMG_20170916_220340.jpg

Quick tip from me, those I&G's are going for only 0.99€ per unit at your local supermarket in winschoten:

Thanks, that is where I got them! ;-)

Ah the rum finish too. It's a cracker!!

Splendid one, and now the last round, the original Innis & Gunn. Another great oak riped brew.

I am raising one to you! The night is winding up here as well.

Chin chin! :0)

Good night mate, closing down the hatches. :-)

Dogtoberfest sounds like it might be up my alley. Malt and a hint of taffy...On the other hand, Cafe Racer seems a bit too much vanilla. I really don't care for vanilla in the best of times, so vanilla in my beer is a no go. Thanks for doing the taste test for us. Its a hard job, but someone must do it:)

Oh my it's hard ;0)

I have had some beers with a hint of vanilla which can work but yeah, this one was heavy on it and it ruined it.

Dogtoberfest I am sure you would love!

I had a coffee beer once when I lived in Adelaide. It confused me. It was like a beer I should be drinking in the morning or something.

Have you tried chocolate beer? Now that stuff is the shit!

Also "Jings, I could quaff this to mcbuggery" 😭

Hehe, oh yeah. I have had chocolate beer many a time. It's mostly excellent!

Yeah that one might go down a treat in the morning but that's a whole other kettle of fish

I could murder a beer right now, but I have a bit of a cold so only cups of tea for me. Achoooo!

I appreciate your hard work and the heavy drinking you have to endure in order to bring us such informative and entertaining posts. You are a true champion sir!

Lol, oh I know what that's like when you have a cold and can't. What about a hot toddy! Always goes down a charm :0)

And yes, man it's tough!

Hope you feel better soon!

A bottle of Dogtoberfest for me, please! :P Today I'm watching many nice contents and photos about the Oktoberfest (here in Italy it's very famous and every italian guy would be there ^_^)

Really? I didnt know that! It truly is a world thing. It is very popular here as well! It was very nice

Since none of this beers are in my country and it seems that u know a lot more about beers then me which beer do you prefer more Giuinnes, Paulaner or Heineken?
Cheers!

Well thats a tricky one! Only because they are all such different beers. My favourite out of allof them would have to be Paulaner, not a ig fan of heineken and guiness is good but not my favourite of the dark ales

6/10 is still a pass, so I'll call this day a win! The Flying Dog has been so impressive, hasn't it? I don't think there has been a dud from there. I could be wrong though, but I doubt. Ha! Me, wrong, that's funny. It does look like a wooden leg, and it does look like it tastes like toffee haha! I don't why, but I'm salivating when I look at Dogtoberfest. And, I just got up from bed, too.

Oktoberfest starts in the middle of September? Oh those Germans.. such a funny lot!

I know, starting in September so they can have a riotous month of madness! Clever chaps.

Hehehe, looking back to last night it did feel like a win

Very clever indeed! Gives them an excuse to not feel guilty downing several pints. I mean, downing at least a pint a day is mandatory for them, right?

You would certainly think so!!

So October fest really starts in September? I heard that from someone

Yes, its a big long affair. I was quite surprised when I first found out a while ago!

Thanks for the confirmation.
So, it's been confirmed by other steemians in their post too :-)

Wild isn't it!!

Pretending to be sober, why ever would you want to do that? Be proudly drunk I say! Unless it's fun to pretend-oh, I know! Video yourself and post it, we can tell you how well you did! Haha!!

I am really looking forward to a particular pumpkin ale called the pumking- from Southern Tier, HIGHLY recommend, definitely lives up to its name! I love the fall!

That's a good name for a pumpkin ale! If I ever see it I will get it.

Sadly the pretending to be sober thing is because the good lady has gone mad. The hormones and pregnancy have combined to make her a certifiable loon. I can only hope that after the birth some semblance of normality returns. I am sure it did the last time :0)

I have faith that it will. I have a very laid back and even keeled personality..except during pregnancy when I turned into the kind of woman I make signs of the cross at LOL. As soon as the 'parasite left the building' I was me again thank God ;)

Yeah and that is how I think the last time went, so I have high hopes! :O)

I'm not usually a beer person, but every time you post of these beery posts, you turn me to the dark side a little more.... :D

Which is excellent. So you will be throwing the wine away!! If you drink wine. How judgemental of me, perhaps you don't even drink at all!

Haha! Sparkly wine, cider and tequila are my usual downfalls.... Hmmm that sounds terrible!! But I don't drink too much these days. I get far too silly too quickly and I can't handle the hangovers any more. :)

Yeah the hangovers are spectacularly brutal. Tequila usually makes them more so!

have a great weekend with Dogtoberfest. Cheers!!

Cheers mate, its a good start!

Looks delicious meesterboom! Just had a Barrel of Monks 3 Fates Belgian Tripel. Very good!

Cheers matey, that sounds like a very fine tipple!

very interesting post.thanks you.

@meesterboom Wonderful put up And that i desire steemit experienced a sticky or pin selection due to the fact That is a type of Specific posts..

Okay dokay

I can say you this fest is so crazy in a good way :D I am living just 60 km away from the city where it's celebrated. But I never taste this beer.

You are lucky to be so near. This one is just an imitation what they are like. It is quite close though

I was wondering :D Hääää why I don't know it :D
