Well, Hardfork 19 is two weeks done and now we are looking to the next one!
Hardfork 20: Velocity is all about making it easier for new users to get onboard steemit.
Will it be the big one that takes it all to the moon?

If all a robot will do to check ID is collect a phone number with SMS capability, and an email; a bot can produce that quickly.
I can open as many steemit accounts as I like with just a few spam email and eastern euro web sms sites.. no registration required to relay email and sms these days. May not be enough to keep the bots out..

That is true. However if we can get menacing evil bots like this then it can happily kill all those other bots :O)
If everyone can open multiple accounts and vote for themselves, then what's the use of Steemit? The hardfork 20 needs to be real legit indiscriminating people from bots.

I disagree. Anyone can open multiple accounts right now and vote for themselves. To give yourself any kind of money via an upvote you have to have steempower. So if someone opens up another account they will have to load it with steempower or its pointless.
And if they load it with steempower, well, its their money. They will have had to get it from somewhere

So HF 20 will give boost to steemit community like 19 did. Only thing I am concerned about is gradual decrease of reward pool. This hard fork should solve it
I don't think it will, I am sure from what I read that it is only about getting new users onto the platform more easily
New users will come but eventually they will leave the system if they see such decrease because most of them dont have much money to buy SP
Some might but if money is their only concern they would leave anyway if they didn't earn millions within a month. Steempower, like it always has been can be earned without purchasing it through blogging. It just takes time and if you are willing to work for it it will come!
Agreed. I am trying to make my identity on steemit and I know when it will be made rewards will come automatically. Have to work hard for it.

LOVE heheheeee. Have I told you that my son gets the hugest kick out of these? He has always loved the stick figure violence. He's a big gamer and really into graphics, but he must have taken after his mom with these simple animations , because they make him laugh so hard he gets me laughing all the harder!

Haha, this might be a little scary for newcomers! I'm looking forward to HF20, although I will say it seems a bit fast - we JUST had this big change to the steem allocations with HF19. I love that we can be agile, but hope it's not such fast adjustments to the Steem ecosystem as to risk making a huge mistake.
I suspect it will take a good bit longer to implement but I know what you are saying. However from what I can see this looks like a simpler bunch of changes all aimed at onboarding. Heck. fingers crossed eh!

I am personally disliking HF19 and the very limiting amount of 100% upvotes. It goes against the grain of everything I've practiced and preached until now. Yeah, I gave you a 25% vote. I hate doing that but I also promised myself I wouldn't upvote a thing until my vote strength was back to 90%. I lied about that too. I don't know whether I should say you're welcome, fek you, or fek me I'm gonna hide under my covers. :P

Lol, you know, I know what you mean. I am hating the decrease in voting power as it means you have to limit your votes or turn the power all the way down.
I feel as though when I turn the power really low like I am letting people down which is daft I know. I cant he;p but think that viewer engagement is down as well after this fork. I can accept rewards changing and shifting but I used to see a lot more comments on my own and other peoples blogs and its a bit like four months ago again when good posts only see a handful of comments. Its all a bit bizarre
EXACTLY, @meesterboom! From day one my practice has been to read the post, comment, upvote 100% all the time. On a really good day I would reach 40-60 posts. Now I feel like I can read and comment and hope I remember to come back with an upvote because I need to wait a day or two for my vote strength to recover or I leave a smaller tip - which makes me feel like an asshole. Hey Steemit! Don't make me feel like an asshole!
