RE: Dream Women Who Turned Into Artificial Looking

in #life7 years ago

This may be a bit off topic, since I’m not responding to the plastic surgery part. But here’s what gets me about “everyday” people: The filters!!! Don’t get me wrong, things like Snapchat can be a lot of fun for giggles, but to some people this has become their reality! This is actually how they perceive themselves! As a photographer, I do my fair share of editing, but I try to keep things realistic. I recently took photos for a woman who is absolutely gorgeous but the only feedback she gave me was disappointment that I didn’t make her look more slim. I never even got so much as a “thank you”. Honestly, I was a bit offended that I took several hours to take the photos and then even more hours retouching them and all she did was complain.

Sorry for straying from your point, but this is what came to mind as I was reading it. Interesting article, @soldier. Thanks for sharing! :)

No, you´re right. This matches perfectly to this topic. I have also read articles that people admire to look like these filters. They do surgeries just to look like it! I am sorry that you wasted your time and put so much effort into the pictures and all she did was complaining... But this is how the world reacts to realness. I want to teach young girls to love themselves and it´s okay to be different. Celebrities aren´t most of the time happy as you might think. They struggle with beauty standards too!

I have two daughters so I agree that it is SO very important that young girls learn to love themselves 😊
