To often in our society we are interested in short term fixes ...
creating something just to be thrown away...
this wasn't always the case
There used to be a time when people put their skill, their craft, their passion and their pride into their work.
Things were built well.
Things were built to last.
unfortunately,
someone realized that planned obsolescence was a profitable activity and the WHOLE WORLD CHANGED
Now our products are built with a lifespan of 6 months.
Created just to be destroyed we no longer build value, we build flashiness and showmanship.
The products we hold are hollow, meant to be destroyed.
This is no good!
There is a reason our oceans are filled with plastic.
There is a reason that landfills are growing to be mountains of trash.
We are a throw away society and it needs to change
I want to build lasting value.
I want to create things that persist, that have strength, durability and concrete value.
If I create something and it begins to fade the moment it leaves my hand, what was the purpose of creating it??
Sure, I see the monks and their mandalas and respect that but they reuse their sand!!
We need not waste,
nor can we afford to.
This world has given us an ultimatum ....
clean up your room or move out ...
I like living here
and know which answer I have chosen
Did I just read throw away society?
We are twining again🙊https://steemit.com/life/@steemityourway/we-are-the-throwaway-society
Simple coincidence? 🙊😉
