Listen To Yourself

Sometimes life can be challenging. It often throws us curve balls that leave us feeling, frazzled, uncertain and sometimes defeated. It is times like these that allow us to truly appreciate the high points in our life. What would be a life without failure? What would life be if we never had to struggle. It might be enjoyable for a period of time, but would that pleasure really last?

From Struggle Comes Strength

Take a moment and consider the last time you really struggled in life. Maybe you were working on a project that pushed your boundaries, had a particularly testy client or simply had an overwhelming amount of things hit you at once. How did you feel during those moments?

Now, take a moment and think about how you felt after you triumphed over those obstacles. You probably felt pretty great, right? It is the contrast between one moment and the next that leads to experiences of intense joy. Without this contrast our lives would be duller, less colorful and ultimately (in my opinion) less enjoyable.

As We Learn We grow

Try to carry this with you for the next time you are going through a tough patch in life. It may seem like it will never pass but I guarantee you that it will. Maintain your focus, keep a positive attitude and you will emerge from the other side. Sure you might pick up a bump or a bruise but ultimately you will emerge wiser, more resilient and with a better understanding of yourself.
