Never in my 60-something years-of-age have I heard of a "destination wedding." Is that some new term to refer to a wedding that is held in some exotic location, perhaps?
Lovely photos in the video collage! Great job on those shots! 😊
Dang dude, you are talented, those were well timed and framed shots. It probably helped to have a couple who were so obviously in love and a beautiful destination for the wedding. Beautifully and tastefully done. I loved the emotional shots from the ceremony, I just have the feeling that was little brother reading something from a father who had passed on....
Just out of curiosity what software are you using for processing, I'm trying to expand my repertoire?
Congrats on the curie vote those are always awesome too...
I appreciate the kind words and you stopping by! They were a great couple to work with as it helps to have a photographer you get along with. If my sister in law (who shall remain nameless) was my photographer I'd probably have an annoyed look on my face on half the pictures! 😡
As for the young man that said a few words during the ceremony that's the bride's son from a previous relationship. The groom didn't cry until he heard his words. Jacari stole the show and everyone was a mess!
As for software I use adobe Lightroom for 98% of my edits and cataloging. I've created a few videos that will help you. You can go here: https://vimeo.com/album/5247123 and watch episode 5 and 4. As I'm writing this I just remembered I have to upload episodes 5-9.
Thanks again for your support and if I can be of any assistance let me know as I like to pay things forward as other people have helped me learn photography throughout the years!
Thank you for the awesome reply, I can imagine the young man did steal the show, I have a son myself, who's father has always been absent.
Those are really awesome videos, The macro photography video was really awesome, I loved the white flash blender behind the flower. That was a moment of genius, and makes the possibilities almost endless with background manipulation.
Have you posted any of these on D.tube or in posts on steemit?
D.tube has an account that will sometimes hit highquality videos with some pretty good upvotes. Plus you can add a vemeo or youtube link incase it doesn't play well.
No worries - my pleasure! Children with fathers is kind of rare nowadays - well at least in my experience.
Thanks for the kind words regarding the videos. The beauty of photography is anyone can learn. Yes I am aware of DTube and I share videos there. After a while sometimes the videos disappear and it can be kind of buggy - which is why I shared the Vimeo link with you.
Thanks for the tip though! I have had some nice payouts, and some didn't do too well.
I hope you had a nice weekend and stay in touch! ✌️

Congratulations @mikeycolon! This post was selected by the @steemitbloggers community as today's Member Boost Post :) It will also receive a complimentary upvote from @Appreciator throughout the course of the day!
In all the weddings photos, I have seen over my many long years, yours have to be the best and most creative! You brought out the best in the bride and groom on their special day. I am glad that @steemitbloggers introduced your blog to me!
What beautiful photos! You captured so much love (and playfulness!) and fun. It looks like a beautiful time and you did a fabulous job putting it into photos!!!
Thanks! Several times when I ask a couple to do something silly - they look at me like I'm crazy. But once they see the images they have an "ah ha" moment and see what I was aiming for.
As a sidenote I tell my couples that taking awesome photos requires a bit of "acting". Plus sometimes during a wedding day someone in the couple might be annoyed at something and it's my job to make them snap out of it or - fake being happy for a few shots.
It is - once everything has wrapped up. There's a lot of moving parts as a photographer to make sure everything goes out without a hitch. When something goes wrong people come to us as we've "been there done that".
On top of that we're like counselors as emotions run high, things go wrong and it's my job to help everyone keep calm while making them feel and look beautiful.
This post has been upvoted by the Curie community curation project and associated vote trail as exceptional content (human curated and reviewed). Have a great day :)
Awesome slideshow! I bet the couple will love it - great mix of casual & posed, and color & black and white. And congrats on the #steemitbloggers Member Boost!
Hey @mikeycolon I wanted to tell you that you are an excellent photographer. I like your photos really well, but unfortunately I'm already married ;-) (not because I would marry you then, but because then you would have to take pictures from our wedding :-)
In addition, your video is awesome, top music selection and I like the animation of the picture change a lot. Greetings @avizor
Thanks for the kind words as it means a lot to me as I put my heart and soul into each wedding I shoot.
There's always a 10 year anniversary to celebrate (wink wink).
As a side note - I'll let you in on a secret - the program I use is https://animoto.com. No other program comes close as to what you can do there! (Just don't tell anyone!)
Hey Buddy :-) yeah good Point with the anniversary 😊! 💪🏼
Okay i checked out your secret advise ;-) Animoto looks really promising 👌😀 great selection ! Perhaps I will now be able to make some animations on my own ☺️
Destination weddings always have their own special touch and feel and this is no different! I love the fun and playful atmosphere surrounding the couples, its just so cute watching them.
You did an amazing job capturing those beautiful moments. It was a beautiful wedding!
Thanks! I always promote people having a destination wedding if they can swing (afford) it. I'm big on going to islands on vacation and every time I go to a resort I daydream of shooting a couple there as nothing beats having palm trees and clear water as a backdrop!
Plus it can be a bit cheaper (if you're not flying everyone in) as a lot of islands are 3rd world countries.
An island is definitely a perfect location for a destination wedding. The palm tress, water etc will definitely add an amazing touch and feel to the photos. Plus the couples will get to build fun and beautiful memories there..
I didn't know it would be cheaper though, that's raelly great to know.
Well I chose 100 as if someone asked me that's the average number of attendees, I'd say 100 in my experience. When it comes to destination weddings I'd say at best 20 - LOL.
Which makes it special in my opinion as the people that really need to be there will find a way to be there - which is what makes it special.
Lol! I agree with you! A wedding with that number of people definitely will be special. All the people that will make it there will be people that really value you and understand how important that union is to you. Plus, there will be fun and exciting memories with these people.
It's so beautiful and touching! You captured beautiful moments of happiness. This important event in their lives will remain in their memory for a long time thanks to your photos. Very cool photo shoot!!!
howdy sir mikeycolon! oh man.. that couple had to have been so happy with the photos, I was thrilled just watching the slide show! I bet you stay pretty busy running around doing wedding photography? great job and great post sir!
Busy is not the word - sweaty is! I sweat a lot - even in the winter and it was a scorcher that day.
Plus I felt like a gun slinger using 2 cameras. Typically I have a second shooter with me, but they had to scale the wedding down since a lot of the resorts in the area got hit hard. So they had to book a more expensive resort as it was one of the few that was going to be ready in time.

Its trending new thing for modern gene...

Doesn't have to necessarily be exotic - just somewhere "not home" and typically far from home. But I prefer exotic!

WOW! What a beautiful wedding!
Great shots! 😍 You are very talented! 😀
Thank you!
I wonder of there is a cure for weddings

First I'd like to say that flattery gets you everywhere with me! 😜
But seriously - I'm humbled by your comments and I appreciate you taking the time to leave a lovely comment. ✌️
A John Legend Original with a reggae twist... nice
And what lovely shots for a beautiful wedding 😊
Thanks - it was super fitting as we were in the Caribbean and the song has that island vibe.

What a neat way to make a living, weddings are usually real happy and festive occasions, makes for a great work environment.
The counseling part is probably the toughest part of the job would be my guess.

Some themes are for the pro version. The one with the rose petals is really nice!
Enjoy!

Cheaper if you're planning on doing something above average at home. If you're inviting over 100+ people things will add up fast.
If you do a destination wedding essentially everyone is paying for themselves while you cover a small ceremony and dinner.
Plus best of all you'll be somewhere exotic! 😎🌴
Around here, weddings at home are pretty expensive, 100+ is quite a small number. lol
I will rather be at an exotic place!!

Hello stunnings wedding photos!!!It looks absolutely lovely to get married on the beach:)
Thanks - I'm glad you dig it! As long as the weather holds up - beaches are the perfect spot to get married either-wise you're screwed!
It's so beautiful and touching! You captured beautiful moments of happiness. This important event in their lives will remain in their memory for a long time thanks to your photos. Very cool photo shoot!!!
Thanks - I'm glad you like this post!
In regards to the forever remembering part - that's why shooting weddings is high pressure!
Thanks for stopping by.
:D
Those photos are amazing. I love how you can see all the emotions..
Thanks - emotions make for great photos! Sometimes people need a bit of coaching to get them in the zone. Thanks for stopping by!
