I love this article and the attitude it has. As a parent I am always trying to instill this in my kids: be the best you can; don't worry about the judgement of others; so long as it doesn't hurt others you can go with it; make your own decisions; no one has to agree with you; you can change the world just one person at a time....
As expats we have the advantage that we will never be the same as those around us, I think this has helped my kids to look for their own paths and nurture their own ideas.
