A story about human behavior and the much needed revolution in the human mind. Including my brainstorm about some steem issues...
Curator
From Latin curator (“one who has care of a thing, a manager, guardian, trustee”), from curare (“to take care of”), from cura (“care, heed, attention, anxiety, grief”).
- A person who manages, administers or organizes a collection, either independently or employed by a museum, library, archive or zoo.
- One appointed to act as guardian of the estate of a person not legally competent to manage it, or of an absentee; a trustee.
- A member of a curatorial, a board for electing...
Last Saturday I was listening to an MSP-Waves-Broadcast. So with all the reads and infos, in my first year here, the whole STINC situation, the steem drop, the often missing community "building", the much needed quality content, flagging wars and so on... I'm kind of on a bad High now! Luckily, since "I'm Not In It For The Money", most of this "talk" does not really bother me directly and I'm not afraid of the day the whole thing is going down, because I'm born ready...
I just don't understand all the buzz and the need of some kind of "value exchange" for the "work" someone does. Probably since ever the ego-selfish-ego is hushing up what really is important. We need to eat and drink, the rest is luxury. Earth feeds us for free. And humans? Are we only able to destroy this foundation because of our ego-selfish-ego..?
We all are curators in a way. So the broadcast and all the messages involving made me think about this. What could we all do to make everybody happy? How to handle the brute force of the "steempowerful"? The behaviour of some steemians is nothing different to the one of banks, insurances and governments in real life...
For me a decentralized platform would be the perfect backbone to a revolution of human kind. The perfect place to show that we are all able to be respectful, giving always the best for the community with no questions about where you come from or what you're worth. No suppositions, just honest flawless speech to oneself. It's just this ego-selfish-ego who's "always" in the way...
Anyway, here is my brainstorm on the steem issue:
- Flagging! This is/was a Nr.1 subject, especially last year, because some "rich and powerful" don't have their ego-selfish-ego under control. So why not give the flags another energy. Kind of:
- For one downvote of a post it needs, say, 10 Flags.
- A flag must always be explained, if not the flagging isn't possible.
- Bots can never flag.
- Curators focusing more on flagging than on upvoting! This reverse situation would help to hide all the crap on the platform more efficiently, and there is a lot of it gaining quite a lot of steem.
- For newbies, small fishes and quality content creators in general, this would boost their own confidence to see, that the one post with a copy/paste content or other silly whatsoever does not make more steem then their own hard work.
- A curator is a guardian (remember the intro of my post..?)
Please everybody, just put your ego under a bushel and come back to your proper human senses. You want some change? So be that change!
