I read the post and absolutely agree with the author.
Here, for example, the top post from "Trending"
Cool, the author received $ 257 from one post, well done!
That's just the author will receive from 5 to 15 dollars maximum.
Who will get the rest ??? - Promotion Bots
Promotion Bots require money for likes, the author has spent his 220-230 $ real money for likes to post. This money was transferred to the bots account (https://steembottracker.com/).
In addition, bots will also receive curatorial rewards. They don't care who likes! Thanks to these frauds, such bots advanced posts gnaw up to 70% of the STEEM turnover. And the author is sharing the rest. Is it an honest concept?
If you agree that this is unfair, and you need to change something repost this post. If you have written posts on this topic or are going to write, attach the link in the comments. And support the posts and comments of the rest. Let's save STEEM!
At this point almost 30% of total SP has been delegated to promotion bots. This practice generates almost 20% passive income in crypto for investors. Bots are open sources and anyone can launch a new one.
But currently witnesses are voting to change curation rewards from 25% to 50% along with some additional measures (curation curve, downvotes, waiting time) to reduce content indifferent voting. It is an interesting problem to tackle!
Here is a $0.15 poll (Higher Curation Rewards) with some useful links: https://steemit.com/waivio/@waivio/usd0-15-poll-case-for-higher-curation-rewards.

Promo bots do not upvote random content. Authors are bidding to get the vote. So, when you see a post that received a lot of bot votes, it means that the author (or a 3rd party) actually paid all that money to bots in exchange for votes.
For some reason competition between authors is so high, that often they spend more then what they get in upvotes! Or maybe they forget that 25% of the total reward will go to curators.
This is one of the reasons, why higher curation rewards can make bots less effective.
Since authors hardly make any money by buying promo votes, the only real reason for them to do so is to bump visibility of their posts in Trending section and then receive user feedback, comments, real action.
And once again, higher curation rewards can help, as this provides higher motivation for readers to engage with content through voting and commenting.
I will admit I have not been around in a while, since it seemed the lion's share of the articles on here looked like they'd been written for bots, by bots. It looks like that's only escalated.
Just stop buying votes, earn them!
