Fruits are characterized as being foods that have natural antioxidants and "protective substances". In addition, they provide a great variety of vitamins and minerals. The most common or the ones that are consumed the most are seasonal ones or those corresponding to each country. Banana, melon, watermelon, oranges, peaches, kiwis. However, there are some very rare in terms of their internal and external aspect. Textures never seen before, intense colors and exquisite flavors make these fruits unique. In many occasions exotic fruits are associated to Caribbean and Asian countries, here the most exotic fruits of the world.
Rambutan
It is native to Asia, more specifically Thailand and Malaysia. Currently it grows as a wild fruit in countries such as China, Indonesia and Vietnam. Its flavor is sweet and is used as an accompaniment to meats, fruit and vegetable salads. Not only are they used for cooking, they also have medicinal properties and that means they are used to prevent constipation, as an antiseptic or to eliminate indigestion and stomach pains.
Pitahaya
It is grown in countries such as Nicaragua, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador. It is extremely delicious: its soft, sweet and soft pulp makes it unique. Varieties of red or fuchsia skin contain less sugar.
Lychee
In China, Indonesia and the Philippines it is known as "alupag". This "false fruit" has a reddish and easy to remove skin. Your heart is made up of a sweet pulp rich in vitamin C.
Melon with horns
Cucumis metuliferus, exotic fruit of Kiwano, fruit of paradise, milú or Kino. These are the different names that are given to this specimen from Africa. Its taste changes depending on what is prepared: if it is prepared with sugar, it resembles kiwi and banana, but if consumed as a salad, it is similar to cucumber.
White Strawberries
Pineberries or white strawberries combine the shape and texture of a strawberry with a flavor and aroma closer to that of a pineapple. These curious strawberries were discovered for the first time in South America, and almost died out until the farmers of Great Britain began to grow them for the gourmet market.
Red Banana
The red banana is very appreciated for its beautiful coloration and delicious flavor with a light touch of raspberry. Its pulp is white and creamy with a pale pink or orange tone. It is smaller and sweeter than the Cavendish banana and is ready to be consumed when its skin acquires a reddish-brown almost purple color.
rambutan is actually pretty decent tasting.
