The girl child, in many cultures and societies, particularly in Africa and other Asia countries,is merely viewed as inferior more like not a human being but objects that are used to settle debts, or form of exchange others seeing the girl as particularly nothing but a sex object.
Culture is dynamic,it evolves and emerge with other culture to create new and unique cultures but it seems that most cultures have remained struck when it comes to girls.
There rate of child marriages in Zimbabwe is increasing with many girls dropping out from school at an earlier age. Manicaland province in Zimbabwe from the period of May 2017 has seen a increase in girl child school drop out from 220 to 311. This is alarming for a province what more the whole nation.
A recent study by the Plan International showed that girls are married off before the age of 18.
one problematic issue in trying to solve this matter especially in Zimbabwe is because of the Religious sector, the Apostolic one where children are married off at church gatherings and over the years the government has tried to talk sense into these people but it seems that it is to no avail.
Gild children are used as payment in order to appease avenging spirits, in Shona it is called 'Ngozi' where is is believed that if a person dies mysteries, he comes back to haunt the family that did him wrong and seeks payment in whatever form he/she desires.
And the child is married off to a spiritual husband. Some are married off so that the family can have f on the table thus exchanged for food or wealth.
The culture is not changing, especially in Africa.
