This 23 year old girl became a travel blogger...here's my story.

You must be pretty familiar with the term blogger by now and as more and more people are getting interested to explore the world, more people are assuming the role of a travel blogger.

So, who is a travel blogger really?

A travel blogger is someone who travels different cities and countries and then writes about his/her experience in those countries. They might include the cost of their entire travel or they might give you recommendations about the best places to visit, eat, party and so on.

It all depends from person to person really and there is no telling which travel blog will end up giving you what kind of valuable information. I am a travel blogger too and although I recently started it, I absolutely love doing it.

So, how did I start travel blogging? First of all, let me tell you that I am a big travel nerd. I love planning and I tend to use various resources to help me with the whole process.

I check several accommodation and transport sites before I actually make a booking and yes, I read other travel blogs to gain more tips and insight about the unknown place which I am heading to.

So, naturally when I don't find adequate information, I get pretty anxious and pissed. I am sure a lot of you would resonate my thoughts, am I right?

Anyway, I never really thought about how my travel blog will really look like or what will be my area of expertise. I started travel blogging because I wanted to document my adventures and my experiences on a public platform.

I never really thought if I wanted to earn from it or if I wanted others to read it. Now, the purpose has definitely changed. After too many failed attempts, I blog now so that others don't go through the amount of confusion and indecision which I endure when planning my trips.

I used to think travel blogging is easy but oh boy! How wrong I was. It is not at all easy! It doesn't matter if you are an experienced writer or not, travel blogging requires a lot of work, time and patience.

There are a lot of things involves in the whole process of creating a new blog post and it can easily take a week of your time (If you have a full time job which is not really blogging). I have to first write the content, then edit it a few times and get it reviewed from a couple of people. Then, I have to format it in our WordPress account.

I need to edit photos and upload them to your WordPress account, which let me tell you takes ages to load!!! Then finally, I have to place those photos at the right places and format my whole post a few more times before it is even ready to be published. This whole cycle goes on for a couple of times before the post even borders perfection.

So, now that I have scared you off the path of travel blogging(Less competition for me, phew!), I would like to tell you what makes travel blogging really fun and interesting. Although it is hard work, I still love travel blogging because it has its own moments.

One of the best thing about writing a travel blog is that you get to relive the whole experience. You recall all the things which happened to you over there and without even realizing it, you would start smiling when reminiscing about those beautiful memories.

“Remember that time when I almost got mugged on the street in Cambodia?” or “Remember when we walked for hours without a single vehicle passing by us?” All those exciting memories come rushing back and you feel elated thinking about it. That feeling is pure love!

Another amazing thing about writing a travel blog is that it is a paradise for a writer or a planner. If you love writing or love being organized about your thoughts, then travel blog will be your happy zone.

You would love to write the blog post about a specific city and would really find it enjoyable to collate data in one place in an appealing and organized manner.

Apart from all of this, the best thing about writing a travel blog is the feeling you get when someone appreciates your blog post and tells you that your blog helped them a lot in planning their own trip.

I cannot emphasize enough on how amazing that actually feels. Someone appreciating your work and effort but more than that, you being able to help out a fellow traveler. It is undoubtedly one of the best feelings ever! I swear I am not exaggerating!

Trust me, when you see more and more views on your blog and your travel posts becoming more popular with travelers, you will feel a happiness which knows no bounds and this is exactly why I love travel blogging. Travel blogging has completely changed me and made me appreciate my travel endeavors more and so, I travel and I write.
