Why am I writing this?
I am soon turning 30 years old and I have thought a lot about life a lot. I also thought a lot about the world and the system we live in. Where does it all go? What is in it for me? What are my goals, how can I achieve them? I have come to a point where telling my friends and family about my thoughts is not enough. Because most of them do not understand me and the conclusions I have come to make. That is why I have decided to write down my thoughts right here. I hope that some people here will understand me and my view of the world and the f...up system we live in. Here is my diary, the diary of a modern slave.
Why do we HAVE to do things?
One of my first memories is me not wanting to go to kindergarten. I wanted to stay at home and thus dallied around, always hoping my mother would forget that I have to go to kindergarten. I did not see any sense in having to go there so early in the morning. Of course, I was looking forward to meeting my friends, but the rest I did not really understand. As you can imagine, it got worse as soon as I had to go to school. Just look at the semantics “I had to”. Why do we HAVE to do things all time? Who says what we have to do and why? As a child and a teen I have been thinking about that a lot. I always tried to oppress this thoughts, because I did not have a choice - I had to go to school, continue with my education and fit into the system - without even knowing what world and system I had to grow into. I have always had a big thirst for knowledge, I have always been curious and I always questioned things. I was a good student, I experienced a good education and I actually have good job now. In fact, the job I always wanted. I don't really have any financial troubles, I have a great boyfriend, two cute cats (yes, I will also post cat content), a reliable and caring family and fabulous friends. So, obviously no reason to be unhappy. But I am. Why?
Questions, the beginning of knowledge
Because I started questioning things again. And again. I has begun with the question a lot of people ask themselves: Where is my life going? What is the sense in life? While looking for answers to these questions I stumbled upon a lot of other questions. Why do I have to go to work everyday to use my knowledge, power and time to make the directors of a company richer and richer while being paid a lot less than I am worth? Why is worth defined as money anyway? Because our system depends on money and even as a relatively well earning woman, I see that it is difficult to cover all expenses. The solution the system provides for that problem: work more, earn more. But this can’t be the solution, right? According to the system we live in, I have to work until i get retired, pay my taxes, be a good citizen, eventually produce some descendants and - most important of all - not question the system. That is what I learnt, but don't believe in anymore. It is so important to question everything from time to time. You just have to handle the truth and its sometimes cruel outcomes.
Do you also ask questions?
If you question the system or just even that the mainstream media tries to tell you every single day, a lot of people will question you and your sanity. Why? Because they are all ignorant and blindfolded for the truth - they don’t even try to question simple facts or news. Because it is easier to live a more or less uncomplicated life, be a good citizen, go to work everyday and pay taxes. Unfortunately they do not know better. There are so few people who are questioning the system itself or even just facts that are presented to you everyday in various media channels. I am very glad to hear and see that there are other people out there who aren‘t as numb as the vast majority of the society or have awakened out of the numbness in which we ought to be in. I am seeking for people all around the world who question the life we live, the modern slavery we live in. It is so hard to convince other people even to question a news article in the mainstream media. Why?
My friends sometimes think that I am a crazy, unhappy conspiracy-loving woman. I am not! I am just questioning the system we live in. Our system and the media try to tell you that the people who don‘t believe in everything they say or do, are conspiracy-theorists that are not to be taken seriously. This is just not right. I just wanted to share my thoughts (and also my anger) with you. And i will do that in the future, on a platform in which I think is a step into the right direction. I assume that I couldn‘t share a post like this on Facebook or even making a video about this on YouTube. On Facebook, my friends and co-workers would put the label „crazy“ on me, and on YouTube with its latest enhancement of censorship, I would be censored. One should think that we are free in this world and have the right of free speech - in theory we do, but in practice we really don‘t! Doesn't that remind you of slavery? Think about it, because there sure are different kinds of slavery.
We must ask questions, but we must also think about solutions. Or else, we will be stuck in an endless cycle (which I guess is normal if we look back at history). So, only new and creative solutions will suffice! Thanks for sharing ! :-)
You're right. But for me, asking questions implies also thinking about solutions. Because without asking questions, there is no need to think about solutions. Thanks for reading! :-)
