Meeting my friends and a lots of reading

On Friday, April 8th, I met up with two of my friends in a cafe just to chat and catch up since I haven't seen then for a long time and then I went to their dance fitness class called Latino Fitness Power. On Fridays it starts at 8:45pm which is a little bit late for me as I go to bed early and wake up early. I had a lot of coffee that day but the class itself was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it! I hope I'll be able to get back to it more often. I couldn't fall asleep that night and I still woke up early on Saturday so I decided to have a super lazy weekend. I was reading a lot and those days I started to feel weird, I don't know how to describe it, but I was just not feeling like myself...
Stomach bug got me

On Tuesday, April 12th, I ended up in bed, no energy, throwing up 4 times and it was just awful. Next day I felt a little bit better during the day, I still couldn't eat anything but I though that I would recover fast from that. But I was so wrong!! Around 8pm I was throwing up again and it lasted all night even though I didn't eat and I couldn't even hold in water. I was so exhausted and tired of it as nothing I took from the pharmacy helped me. Those few 3-4 days felt like hell but then I finally started to feel better. Since yesterday I am eating real meals again after a week and my energy levels are still not at the top but I feel good and ready to get back on track. This stomach bug was honestly worse than Covid and my niece actually got it first, then my nephew, me and my mom.
I won another Kpop giveaway

In all the health chaos last week, winning this Kpop giveaway price made me happy! :) I won two Bam Bam photocards from Got7 albums and I could choose one digital print from their page so I went for Bobby from one of my favorite groups iKON. It's such a nice print and I am thinking of displaying it somewhere.
What I've been reading

Before I got sick I managed to finally finish 1984. by George Orwell - it took me so long to read this book but it was well worth it. Then I went through Tess Gerritsen phase, an author that writes thriller/crime/detective books which are my favorite! I finished The Keepsake, The Surgeon and The Silent Girl. Her books are intense, mysterious and they got my attention with every sentence. Before these three I've read one of her books in the past and I'll take any chance to read more! The bottom book on the left photo I didn't end up reading and today I went to the library to return these books and I got 7 books to read now that I'm in the reading mood and also for the Easter holidays over the weekend (Serbian Orthodox Easter is this upcoming Sunday for those of you who are confused lol). I'll make a separate post sharing the books I picked up today.
Getting back on track

I am kind of overwhelmed with all the things I need/want to do in order to get back on track and I am procrastinating as I usually do when I don't know where to start. Today I did my very simple morning routine (I might share it in another post) and it already made a little bit of a difference in my day - I went to the library, now I'm all set when it comes to reading, I made a language learning plan as I want to get back to learning languages, I finally painted my nails after a long time, it's just those small things that lift up ones mood. Tomorrow I am getting back to doing University related stuff which should actually be my number one priority. I am also in a desperate need of cleaning my room, give it a good refresh. :) One step at a time...
Final words and thoughts...
After spending days in bed, when I went outside, this is what I saw... our pretty tulips are all dried up now. It made me a little bit sad but it was also a great reminder for me that things comes and go, and like nature seasons, we also have seasons in our lives where good things happen and bad things happen. Life is unpredictable and just when you think you might have everything planned or figured out, an "earthquake" comes to share things up. :) Also, when we feel like our lives are filled with rain and thunderstorms, something or someone comes in with sunshine and rainbows. Of course, sometimes things are not that extreme and we are just in that "grey area" where things are not amazing but also not awful and I believe that's when we have the most power to make it as we like. I am in that zone now and I am choosing to lean towards the brighter side. :)
Glad to hear you are on the mend. It's the pits to be sick when it's nice outside.
Thank you!
Yes, everyone was out enjoying their time and I could barely leave my bed and now it's a little bit chilly, still waiting for proper spring weather. :D
Whoa that sounds rough. I am glad you are feeling better! 🤠
It wasn't fun at all, haha. Thank you, hope you're doing well! :)
Sounds like it was not fun.
You are welcome and I am doing well. 🤠
