Why is it important that your child play outdoors

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Most likely, if I asked you how you spent your free time as children, most of you would probably answer us - playing with friends outside and running around the neighborhood.

Today, most children spend their time indoors and in closed places, and it seems that they rarely spend time playing outside. Perhaps this is due to the security situation and our parents' fears, perhaps because of the development of the various television games, and perhaps because the television broadcasts have changed and there is a lot of content to see.

Whatever the reason, the bottom line is that our children spend much more at home and less outside. And a pity.

Outdoor play has many advantages. The game outside removes the various limitations of the game inside the house. When your child is playing outside, he can run for pleasure without fear of bumping into the couch or sliding on the floor, and he can jump without getting stuck in furniture and breaking vases.

Outside, your child can practice a skill such as throwing a ball, catching a frisbee or jumping after a run. He can also practice his crude motor skills such as digging holes, pushing a swing and pulling a cart.

The importance of playing outdoors for child development
With enough play outside, your child runs around - chasing friends or climbing the various facilities. These actions burn many calories and thus help the obesity phenomenon that has become common among children. Apart from obesity, the activity outside helps to strengthen the child's immune system, which should reduce their chances of heart disease and high blood pressure in the future.

In addition to this, research shows that the fresh air that the child breathes while playing outside helps the brain developing and helps to reduce the pressure the children are in (yes, children are also under stress).

While in the open air, the brain organizes itself better, which helps children to be more focused, which can lead to academic success.

Play outside and be happy
Outdoor play gives our children the opportunity to play with other children - thus developing the social skills necessary to mature. The common game not only contributes to their social development but also increases their sense of self-confidence.

The natural light outside stimulates the pineal gland, a gland that controls the body's internal clock - which helps us feel happier and happier.

There are plenty of children's activities that your children can do outside.
Here are some of the games: Hide and Seek, Kick the Can, Capture the Flag, Heads Up, Seven Up, Basket shooting competitions, football, and the list go on.

You can also take part in the children's various activities. Joint cycling or joint marching can also be part of the outdoor activities that are so important to your children.

Thnx @nirgf for sharing such a beautiful blog on children playing outside. Hi I'm Krishnendu, a fellow steemian, not so new to this phenomenon called STEEMIT, a father of a 5 yrs old daughter. As a parent I give lots of freedom to my daughter and insist on her playing outside. We at a regular basis take her to nearby children's park where she gets to mingle with different other children from various walks pf life. She bonds well. She jumps, runs, falls down again gets up gets busy in what she loves the most. Sometimes, she's all alone in the park when others are not around for various reasons. Mostly, their parents give too much of pressure in their children's studies. Everyone has to be Issac Issac Newton or Albert Einstein. Everyone one out here has to become doctors or engineers, everyone has to be successful in their career. But what about their mental satisfaction?? Nobody bothers to think about it. They just care a damn!! Ever parent is on a rat race for their child's future. I'm no exception but I think playing outside, making friends of different age group and with different mindsets help them build a good character.

When I was a kid i spent most of the time playing outside, played football, cricket, Badminton. Mostly I enjoyed to the core playing them. It's not that I make my child neglect her education. But I strongly feel that my daughter loves playing than that of studying hard like a bookworm. I don't want my child to be a bookworm. That'll never be gonna be working out eventually.

Thank you very much dear friend for your response, I agree if any of your word.
First of all, I think you're a lovely father, good for the education and attitude you give your child.
Most parents today, do not find time for their children and that's very bad.

We all have to vent the nerves we have on something, and it's better to have it in games.

Thnx to you my dear friend for pointing out this kind of serious issues happening in our so-called modern society

Always welcome :)

This is helpful...every parent need to read this to make our homes better

Thank you very much, I wish every child a parent like you, who thinks like that, well done
I really appreciate your nice response, thank you very much

I agree @nirgf people are in danger for the lack of physical activity. Childrens were busy in gadgets now a days at home.

I remember the fun I had as a little boy, playing outside with friends.
Children today do not want to go outside and play, all day in front of the computer and cellular

Thanks for reading and commenting my friend : )

Thanks for this nice post of yours. It's very important for kids to play outside and you have mentioned in an excellent way why it's important.
When I was a child we played mainly outside, but to day with all this technology many kids prefer to stay and play at home and That's how they start growing fat and become less connected to kids of their age.

Thank you very much dear friend, it is rare to see today children playing outside,
All the games I remember as a child we play are gone.
I remember Halit imitating to finish all the lessons from school to go play, were playing until it started to darken and we could no longer.

100% behind you my friend.

Living in Bali we live a very outside kind of life ;)

Steem on!

I'm sure you're closer to the beautiful life in nature :)

Thank you very much, dear friend, for your help

You are most welcome

Nice one, keep it up

Thank you

Agree with you completely. Unfortunately, my kids too preferring inside play. I am an outdoor person and enjoy open spaces. When I suggest them to come with me, they, somehow accept and we spend some excellent time outdoor. But, when their friends come or when they go to play with other kids, it's almost always inside. I hope it is going to change with time.

Thank you, dear friend :)
I believe it will only begin to change when they are bigger,
When they want to be independent, not to be with their parents and not at home.
Do not you go on weekend trips?

Totally agree! Parents need to make sure their children spend enough time doing outdoor activities!

Thank you very much, only we need to find time to get them out :)
