Then the doctor walked in and said, don't take this like it's the end of your life Victor, as far you breathe there's still hope, we cure but God heals, Victor was still in tears and lamented on how he won't be able to play football again.
Victor on his wheel chair was taken home by his eldest brother Thomas, the business man, Victor had to live with Thomas, he became a sober young lad, everyday while Thomas returns home from work he buys different kinds of gift for Victor in order to try to cheer him up and one of these gifts was a football, whenever Thomas is away for work, Victor would train with the football but this time he trained with his head, he spent most of his time each day trying to raise the ball to a good count with his head and shoulders, he trained hard on this everyday.
11 Months Later...
Victor was in the sitting room on his wheel chair after his regular football practice. Well, Victor got to a perfect state of his practice as he became so talented with the use of his upper body to lift the ball, Thomas had seen him practice ones and was impressed. While Victor was in the sitting room, watching Tv an advert came up "Football Skills Competition for the Disabled" this competition was organized by one of the country's most wealthiest football analyst and football club owner, Mr. Job Williams, the idea of the competition was to give hope and faith to the disabled, Victor who has been a goal getter made no hesitation and registered for the competition, he informed his brother Thomas when he got back from work, Thomas as usual said, go ahead as long it makes you happy.
Victor practice for 3 weeks before the kickoff for the competition, he qualified through the community and inter-state level and was able to reach the top 10 finalist, Victor was so exited as this was a stepping stone in his life, Thomas was proud of his little brother. The competition had prizes of $5,000 for the winner, $3,000 for the 2nd position and the sum of $2,000 for the 3rd.
The grand finale came and lots of people were present including Victor's brothers and their friends, Victor felt energetic and ready to win, it got to his turn to perform and Victor had a very outstanding performance, he raised the ball between his head and shoulders and the ball never dropped till his time was up, he did this with extensive skills that's rarely seen, his performance got a great applaud and a standing ovation.
Others performed and it was time for the winners to be announced, 3 winners among 10 finalist, Victor was on tension and scared of losing the competition, the announcement was made and Victor got 5th position, he was not exited at all as he expected to win, his brothers encourage him and said he really tried, while they were talking, Mr. Job Williams who is the organizer of the competition walked up to them and look at Victor and he said, I finally found you, Victor and his brothers wondered what that means, Mr Job requested they follow him to his office so they can seat and have a conversation.
In Mr. Job's Office...
I finally found you, Mr. Job said ones again, Victor replied, this is weird, please explain what you mean by that sir, Mr. Job breathe heavily and told Victor his life story, Mr. Job told Victor how he had football training thrice a week, how a man discouraged him about playing football the same day his parent died and how he lost his legs and how he trained his head while living at his brothers home, Victor and his brothers were shocked, Victor was in more shock as he had never told any one about the man who discouraged him at the training ground, Victor was forced to ask how Mr. Job knew so much about him, Mr. Job said it has been a dream have been having for 11 months now, the dreams were about your life, one in every week I dreamt about your life for 11 months, everything that happened to you came to me as a dream and i've wondered how I could locate you, that was how I came with "The Football Skills Competition for the Disabled" the competition was founded at the verge of finding you, countless dreams of you made me believe I have an impact to make in your life, finally I found you.
Victor and his brothers were in between shock and excitement, Mr. Job went further and hand over a cheque of $8,000 and also said, I would also be giving Victor a scholarship to any university of his choice all through any level of his education, I would also sponsor a leg surgery for him that would enable him walk without a wheelchair, with the dreams I had about you Victor, I believe you are strong, hardworking and you can achieve anything you set your mind to, with all that happened, you never gave up to keep trying, everything I plan to do for you is well deserved. Victor was clouded with excess excitement and joy and was very grateful.
Victor went to the university and graduated, became a wealthy football analyst with turns of endorsements, he scouted and helped younger football talent to achieve their dreams.
And Victor lived happily ever after.
Moral: Don't let any unpleasant situation make you believe you have no chance of succeeding, consistency is the only way to success others are rules, keep doing that thing you believe in the world will adjust.
