YOUR ATTITUDE DEFINES YOUR PERSON

in #life8 years ago

There are a lot of things that determine how others see us. Some of us feel those that treat us with disdain are unfair. Maybe we are right, but the matter goes beyond such subjective outlook. How people see us is, in several  cases, proportional  to what we let off. Like a bright light produced by a filament of very high capacity, how we are treated and appreciated by others is related to what inheres in us. A quiet and soft-spoken man is someone everyone would want to become friends with. A loquacious and noisy fellow is considered unsociable by a lot of people. Do yourself a favour by starting to look inward for the reason you are treated that offensive way. Your attitude is a very vivacious determinant of how you are regarded  by others. But what is the meaning of attitude? Why does it play such fundamental  role in the perception people have of us?

OUR ATTITUDE AND ITS VALUE

Humans differ one from another in the way they do things. The human person  observed over a short period does not reveal ATTITUDE  but CONDUCT. Conduct  is what  someone  does: it could be good or bad. Our conduct refers to how we do what  we do in a given time. Our conduct changes with time. Attitude, on the other hand, refers to human conduct observed over time. A prolonged and repeated  observation of man reveals a pattern of doing things that is unique to that person. The man that shouts at someone  that stepped on his toes has evinced his conduct. The man that shouts at another EACH TIME he is hurt may not be aware that he is revealing  his ATTITUDE. Attitude enables people foretell what we have not even done.

Our pattern of conduct (our attitude) is very important, for it is what makes us either acceptable or horrible. What appeals to people is our attitude, not what we claim. The next time you find yourself as an object of scorn, try to suspend judgment and re-evaluate the situation. Let your curiosity start with you. Re-examine and re-evaluate yourself and see if there is anything worthy of attention. Try to see whether there is some unattractive attitude in you - something a lot of people may find offensive and repulsive. Don't be quick to conclude that people  dislike you. Focus on ascertaining what you think is unlikable in you.

The subjective, contemplative exercise above will, most likely, lead the seeker to an attitude that is responsible for the negative opinion people  have of him. Another way to uncover a bad attitude is by listening to what people say. As a matter of fact, public opinion is the best source. What people say and think of you, in most cases, matters a lot. Your attitude can either make or mar you.

A good attitude breeds excellence; a bad one is a setback. Pay attention to your attitude today and determine your altitude.

nice post ,thank you for sharing

I did an excericse a while back I want to share with you since I think its fitting. to discover the values you really want to have and this will also determine your attitude.

Imagine you are at a funeral. You look inside the coffin and see yourself. You see all your loved ones, friends and colleges.

One after another is holding a speech about you. What do you want them to say? How you want them to remember you? What actions you have to take regular and how you have to engage with them to achieve this?

Selfworth should be a target in our social living. Thanks @ogoowinner for that great insight.

nice post

"My personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who you are." - Random quote I just remembered after reading the title.

It appears that you're a wise person. I felt like reading something that might really mean something, something significant and substantial, not just some copy and past random post for $$$$.

So... I looked through all of the people (Steemians) which I am following here at Steemit in search of your profile (because I didn't remember exactly your name until I saw it again).

You are so right about about conduct and the way people see us. And that things and can be subjective. And that we need to evaluate ourselves and the situation. Sometime we need to step back away from the microscope and look at the entire situation and also from the position or outlook of others.

This sort of stuff seems like sociology (the study of the structure of society) but nowadays college isn't really even needed with the internet and all the info online.

I any event you've got the mind for it and you seem like critical thinker. I hope that you keep publishing outstanding articles here at >strong>Steemit!
