Born 21.02.1975 in Chisinau. Judo started with 10 years Kolpashikov Leonid Fedorovich in Chisinau,Moldova. Became a multiple winner and medalist of International and all-Union tournaments on judo and Sambo. In 15 years, a bronze prize-winner of school sports of the USSR and fulfill the norm of Master of sports of the USSR. In 16 years takes 1st place in the championship of the USSR among juniors. In 1996, at the age of 21 years, becomes Vice-Champion of Europe in judo and performs the standard Master of sports of international class. Participant of the Olympic games in Atlanta (1996). In 1997, married and, after only 9 days, gets in a car accident, which killed his young wife, and he, as a result of numerous injuries of a person deprived entirely of vision. 2 years later Oleg starts again to do judo. In 2001 he makes his debut in the International tournament (Vilnius, Lithuania) on judo among people with limited vision, where it takes 1st place. 2 months later, Oleg participates in the Championship of Europe on judo among visually impaired (Ufa, Russia) where, having won an early victory in all encounters, becomes the Champion of Europe. In the same year, accepts the invitation to participate in the World Cup (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) in the team of Russia, which also becomes the champion. Since 2001 he is a full member of the Russian judo team and trains under the guidance of Gligor V. P. and Pegov V. A.
Currently Oleg Kretsul is 6-fold Champion of Russia in weight category to 90 kg and also a multiple champion of Russia in absolute weight category.
