Fear: an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger -Merriam Webster Dictionary
Fear is a very powerful emotion that drains some people to the extent that every decision they make from the choice of a life partner to what to eat for lunch is influenced by fear.
We all have peculiar fears;
Achluophobia Fear of darkness
Acrophobia Fear of heights
Androphobia Fear of men
Glossophobia Fear of speaking in public
Gynophobia Fear of women
Heliophobia Fear of the sun
Hemophobia Fear of blood
Or like me Cynophobia Fear of dogs 😂😃
The list could go on and on.
However, mutual fears are the fear of the unknown, the fear of failure and more interestingly the fear of success
Fear can make us remain in our comfort zone.
Fear can hinder us from reaching our full potential. If we let fear overwhelm us, we will always be frightened by change or new challenges
As much as fear can be destructive, i believe it can also be used as a positive catalyst to push us in the right direction, if we learn to use it to our advantage.
The only way we can use fear to our advantage is if we face fear and go right through it and not running away from it.
As you face your fears, you will do things you probably thought weren’t possible, you will be more prepared to seize any opportunity that comes your way, you will gain self confidence as a result which, in turn will enable you to use fear to your own advantage.
Accept fear, go right through it and embrace a life of infinite possibilities.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?" - Marianne Williamson
