RE: Are You Thinking About Giving Up?

in #life8 years ago

Great story about the search for gold ;) It is hard to imagine how the idiot felt this Darby :) And yes, in everyone's life there are always moments when you want to give up.

I remember when I was a child someone said the following sentence: "The winner is not the one who is stronger. And not the one who is smarter. The winner is the one who doesn't give up". And I tried to make this phrase the motto of my life. After all, we all want to win. And I always really wanted to win. But I saw that there were stronger, more intelligent and more talented kids than me. And I was looking for any solution. So this idea was a response to my request - never give up and someday you will win.

Thank you so much for this article, @the-alien, it has a transformative effect. Therefore it's really useful.

Great sentence! And it's true, I don't know if you've read the book "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell? He talkes about extremely talented people that didn't make it, including a man who was smarter than Einstein (although it was his fault in this case)

Hard work, talent, and it's best if you love what you do so you don't mind working hard :)

Thank you for the kind words! I'm happy that you found it helpful!

I have not read "Outliers", but I'll definitely put it on my list. I love to read good books. Books give the opportunity to learn from great people.

I know, it's gaining the wisdom from other people. As Oscar Wilde once said, I have thousands of friends, just it's a shame that they're all trapped between paper and leather.

I butchered the quote of course :P

Really great post !, I hope you don't mind me commenting 7 days later, just saw this and started following you. I am not really a writer, I am a learner/conversationalist ... I stopped here when I saw "Outliers". I had an idea all through the book what the conclusion was going to be. There are no Outliers ! So awesome ! .. Persistence & Consistency is key ! I have one for you ! "Acres of Diamonds" Russell Conwell Best version of audiobook I have found, actually have had for years ...
