It was a cold but dry October 2008; the foliage spoiled us with all the colours of autumn, caressing the soul and pampering the eye.
We climbed our VW Touareg and the first part I took over and @anutu sat on the right rear seat - on his lap, Niirti snuggled up to him. The second part of the ride was exactly the other way round.
Our Niirti was very calm and relaxed during the drive from the Black Forest towards our sphere of influence. It was a completely new and unknown feeling to have such a small, protective being in our intimate circle.
The time passed - our work in the hotel took a lot of time and it will probably take a longer phase of "pro bono work". We had no idea that we would spend there until the middle of May 2009.
But since we had a new order from January 2009, we had to do one or the other balancing act, but everything went well to anticipate it.
Our Niirti grew and prospered. She was wild and impetuous, but also incredibly loving and cuddly. The education was complex, but not too strict, but strict enough. Everyone in the hotel and our family and friends, who visited us frequently, loved her.
All of them, however, did not love them - unfortunately!
It was the evening of New Year's Eve 2008.
Niirti was in bad health.
Her condition deteriorated from minute to minute and we decided to go to a vet.
The doctor was attentive and competent.
She examined Niirti thoroughly and told us that our little girl was suffering from poisoning.
With a heavy heart, we decided to join the recommendation of Mrs. Doctor and to leave her in the practice for monitoring. The situation was very serious and we had to celebrate our first New Year's Eve without Niirti.
On January 1st we were allowed to take her home with us, received instructions for further treatment and were advised to change our diet.
With much love, a special diet and medication, Niirti went better and better. On the recommendation of Sylvester's doctor, we went to a specialist in veterinary medicine.
The blonde and extremely kind doctor proved to be very competent, but she was also honest. After several special blood tests and examinations of the faeces, she told us that Niirti had been poisoned with rat poison.
That was a shock!
In the course of time, our work was well coordinated, her condition continued to improve. She grew and prospered. She was quite a small Rottweiler bitch, but she was so beautiful, kind, but she also had a healthy protective instinct.
Our orders were well with her feasible and she became a real hotel dog and travel dog. Wherever we went, they all took her to their hearts. Spring had arrived and we enjoyed the time with Niirti. We raved through the park, roamed through woods and fields, visited my parents in Lübeck.
During our stay in Lübeck, we got a call from the hotel.
Another pet was poisoned; we were to be told more about it in the hotel.
The leading lady of the house visited us in our apartment. She was sometimes Niirti's nanny when we couldn't take her with us. In tears, she told us about the poisoning incidents.
Some of the residents of the senior citizens' residence were partly so hateful, they argued with each other and some hated animals so much that they did not shy away from anything. At the end of the conversation, she advised us to leave this hotel and the area as soon as possible.
It was the end of April and we planned to have completed the order by mid-May.
.
We were so happy that we finally took Niirti with us to Berlin. She had been there with us before and she was so fascinated by the many cars. All the beautiful parks and city forests, the wonderful surroundings of Brandenburg with the forests she loved.
It was the middle of May, the summer seemed to come closer and closer. It was eight o'clock in the morning; we walked through the park with Niirti. She had grown up so much that she walked beside us without a leash. And it came how it had to come. She ran after a poodle and had disappeared.
After half an hour she waited for us outside the front door - how clever she was! In the evening @anutu and I sat together, reading and talking.
It was so quiet...Where is Niirti? We went into the bedroom, it was so quiet, it was a special atmosphere. There she was - in her basket, breathing fast, blood running out of her nose and mouth. @anutu and I lay down next to her, stroked her, touched her head and then it was all still - dead still.
Our dog girl took her last breath and was taken from us.
She was just eight months old.
The autopsy resulted in another poisoning with rat poison.
Silently, quietly we buried Niirti and left the hotel at the end of May...

Her life might have been short but I'm sure you guys made much mark in her life and made her feel so loved ❤️❤️❤️Aww... I'm so sorry for your loss @oneofsteem and @anutu ❤️ it's never easy to lose a love one and she seemed like a beautiful and sweet dog.
At work we made a Honor tree with the kids, many kids have list a pet and we thought of a way we might be able to honor them and make the kids understand and feel understood.
So we made a honor tree 🌳 and each ribbon in the tree represents a list pet and all kids got to choose their own. I even got my own Elvis ribbon and the kids have taken that tree to their hearts. So many ways to honor them and they are gone but never forgotten.
Much Love to you and thank you for sharing.
❤️🤗🤗❤️ 💕🐶💕
Thank you very much for your sympathy and kind words.
Often we also console ourselves with the fact that she had a short but loving time.
The idea with the tree is excellent and we will realize something similar...
Thanks again,
Yours, Alberich
Oh my goodness, @oneofsteem and @anutu :( Poor little Niirti I cannot comprehend such acts nor how heartbreaking this must have been to you both. I am sure that Niirti is so thankful for all the love and joy you gave her though. What a sweet, sweet face.
I will celebrate her life with you....Monday nights all around the world, we all light a candle for our beloved babies and I will light a candle for Niirti, too. It doesn't bring them back, but it helps to remember all the love they left with us - there are no boundaries where there is love.

Much love to you both and sweet Niirti
That is so tender @youhavewings
♥️
It is so wonderful to read your comforting words.
We both are so touched...
Thanks so much, also the ceremony with the candles.
I am so sorry someone did that to your sweet girl. People can be so ugly.
Ren
Thank you very much, she will always remain in our hearts, yet there remains a certain pain that never fades away.
Some people can be so disregarding and cold hearted.
Wherever your baby is, I'm sure she loves you endlessly.
I hope you find peace in your heart!
Thanks for sharing.
I'm sure she did as well... You can see it in her eyes.
Heartbreaking
Thank you so much for your warm and kind words.
We've already made peace with the culprits...
This is so awful 😭
I remembered as I was reading this section what happened... Anutu had told me before...
I'm so sorry to read this!!!
We're the culprits ever caught???
Yes, it was a shock and the pain is still very deep.
But time should heal all wounds.
The culprits were never found....
It doesn't bring her back.
No, it doesn't :(
But it's awful that people like this are still out there able to do this to other animals. destroying families. disgusting behavior
