I think how much a post earns depends on the following:

1. How many followers you have
2. Your Steem Power
3. Your follower's Steem Power
4. The interestingness of your post
5. The quality of your post

I believe the means to achieve these are the following:

1. Post great content
2. Engage in discussions (maybe 10 every day)
3. Accumulate Steem Power

It all looks good on paper and then there is the real life application. Thanks for sharing your tips for success. I will try and apply them in the near future. The 10 engagements per day is a good goal for sure.
