More progress! We made it!
A lot of things in life seem to take time.... especially in my life right now. Slowly but surely, we are making progress, and today was a big one!
NOW WE CAN GO TO THE BATHROOM!
The actual septic tank and leach field have been in and ready for a while, but it wasn't until today that we finally made the connection. Some neighbors who are into various parts of the construction and home building business were available, so we got to work.
As usual, having all sorts of heavy equipment available sure did help. I seriously can't imagine doing this all by hand, although I would if I had to. Thankfully, I don't have to!
It was another bunch of things I'd never done before, but I was eager to learn, help out, and be available whenever possible. If I ever encounter a project like this again, whether my own or someone else's, now I'll have experience and be even more beneficial!
Part way through the project we switched equipment, and then finished by hand. It looks like I'm getting muscles in places I was always suppose to have them, LOL!
Eventually the pipes reached the tanks, and the final connection was made. I'm blessed to have handy, experienced friends available for projects like this, and it was well worth the wait.
Tomorrow, along with a lot of other things, I'll have to fill in the hole and restore some order to the area. After that, we'll be all set to move in... almost! Soon enough anyways, and we are still excited!
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

How funny, I'm traveling and a local told us, that once here in Choroní a man went to a septic tank and found buried gold coins of the Spanish colony, pure coincidence.
Maybe you can find gold!!!!😃😃😃

The simple but needful things in life. Great to have progress!
Congrats, that's another big step out of the way. It's always crazy when you are trying to do life at one house and get stuff done at another one. especially when you have gardens, kids, a wife and two houses/places to take care of.
Great job!
I can't stop admiring engineering work like this.. They are always amazing.
Slow and steady wins the race.
Nice work @papa-pepper. It’s not how long it took to do it but how well the work was done - saves on time messing on repairs and such like in the future. You must be feeling satisfied with progress and loving those muscles.Nicely said @papa-pepper. It’s moving fast now and you are looking super good! Crash course expert! Looking forward to see how your pond and storm shelter turn out. You could bury the container... that’s super cooling for what you keep inside and makes a beautiful hill on your land😉😍🌴💛🦋🌈❤️
You're right about that! Just do it once right, and that's all that matters!
you beard man, it reminds me of country side in US
good work @ papa-pepper, it looks like you have mastered many fields.
@papa-pepper maybe I missed it, what are you planning for the shipper container?
:)
Really happy, your pipes are done! Be blessed!
Good that was too long to hold it in. lol
Damn, you are tackling some monster jobs! I am highly impressed. I wish I lived in a place where I could build to my hearts desire, looks like this is exactly what you’re doing ... I am catching your blog for the first time so I am going to have to review back a bit because this looks like you have been at this for some time. The only work I am doing is working to try and get some sleep and it’s not working out so good, 4:48am and I just can’t stop steeming... you are probably already digging the storm cellar and tree holes by now, holding for the best in all your projects and when I get off this stupid phone and on my desk top I will read back to the beginning of your project to catch up. Best of luck today with with digging machine!
I know how hard it can be to stop steeming! I'm not sure how far back you are going to try to look, but it gets deep here!
Anyway, I think I've got the pond dug, so I'm on to the root cellar!
Stopping steemit is tough!! From the looks of your first two posts I looked at I figured it was gonna get real deep, I may need your monster digger when you’re done using it to find the beginning of your project.... I will give it a shot :) so the pond is done and the cellar... the holes for the fruit trees won’t take long at all I imagine. How many and what types are you going to plant? I am now imagining an orchard !!
You mean you've been holding it in all this time??! Sorry, @papa-pepper! 🤣 You left yourself wide open for that one! Seriously, it is good to see you make some more progress on getting things ready to move in. You must be really itching to get in. I know I would be, but it is better to wait for people to help since it goes so much quicker when you have the equipment and the experience working beside you.

Heavy equipment sure does make the job a bit easier! Glad to hear it is almost move in ready!
Awesome to be making progress!!
Things are really coming together!!
