And this was a big one.
As far as skinks in the area, this is about as big as we've seen. While relocating toads from where we were working yesterday, we also noticed this large skink. After a couple of failed attempts, I was finally able to capture this guy. He was extremely well fed too, most likely from chowing down on the masses of crickets with the toads. I bet this guy could go over a month without eating and still be doing just fine. Thankfully, he got a nice new home just like the toads. Here's some more photos of this impressive creature.

Maybe you caught their queen? You just took the ruler of the local skink kingdom, now they have fallen into political turmoil. Succession drama is playing out in possibly distrubing ways.
