Many people think swearing is not for the workplace. Others think it's OK on occasion. But notice that most managers do not swear? Maybe they should?

Swearing in the workplace is generally not the done thing. I do it a hell of a lot, I know I shouldn't.
But I read some research and actually people have more respect for their manager when he or she occasionally swears.
Not regularly, certainly not every day.
But if the manager swears just sometimes then people see it as a sign of genuineness, being down to earth, authenticity. This has been borne out in research I heard about in a Harvard Business Review podcast.
So if you're a manager, lesson learned is you should swear sometimes! haha
