Our streets today are filled by little kids roaming around trying to survive. These children did not drop out of Heaven did they? They also were born like the rest but they go deep into bins searching for unhealthy left-overs we dump there. Some are abused sexually and no one even cares or looks into it. The freezing winter months kill some of them and the lucky ones survive to see the next summer. They also need a good life but all they see most is pain, hopelessness, hunger and torment. They face horrific nights out in the dark and nobody knows what kind of beasts the night brings upon them.
WE HAVE TO CHANGE OUR PERSPECTIVE ABOUT THEM AND HELP THEM HAVE A LIFE. I want you to go with me through the eye-opening subtopics below.
JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE DISADVANTAGED DOESN’T MEAN THEY ARE USELESS
There are some great potentials hidden in some of those kids and these potentials can reshape our world. Some need someone who can take them, sit down with them and help channel their gifts. There is a local musician in Zimbabwe who is rocking the Zim-dancehall music category and is well known for his background as a street kid. He is known as Soul Jah Love. He also sings about his street life a lot but now is having a life and is very famous and people like his music too.
DON’T ABUSE THEM BUT PROTECT THEM
Some people take advantage of those street kids and abuse or kill them for ritual reasons etc. They can even sexually abuse them for just a meal and the kids will not refuse because their bellies will be empty. But help protect them…they are also people like us. See how much we protect our own kids. They also need that protection because though they are not our own but still they are our responsibility.
THEY ALSO NEED A NORMAL LIFE
They also need to be happy like others, go to school, find a job or start businesses etc. but THE STREET WILL DRIVE THEM INTO CRIME, drug abuse and a lot of unpleasant activities.
##THEY ALSO NEED A FAMILY
Family is a very important element in human life. Family goes beyond flesh and blood but a loving and caring heart is a better family. It is a need and not just a want…people need to belong to some family setup. Missing this element in one’s life will create a large, blank and confused haunting space.
THEY ALSO NEED LOVE
Unselfish and unconditional love is what they need. They need to be cared for…to be fed, clothed and groomed. Only a heart full of love can take that step to help them.
THEY NEED A HOME
Moreover, they need a home. Home is more than a shelter but it is place where one can belong, be appreciated, be supported and receive and give mutual love. Some have introduced the issue of orphanages for these children and I would want to greatly appreciate them.
I AM ALSO WORKING TOWARDS BUILDING HOMES FOR SUCH KIDS…AM LOOKING INTO HOW BEST I CAN RAISE FUNDS FOR THEM. I MAINLY WANT TO START WITH HELPING CHILDREN IN THE STREETS OF AFRICA. I started a group of about six people with that iniative. We were just giving out what we had and donating it to orphanages but our vision is to take it a step further. If you know foundations and trusts which may help with in any way I will be pleased to hear from you.

Useful articles like these I usually save for future reference . This article make us aware of the environment we live. It's our duty to protect it includingthese street kids.
Yeah you are right. If we don't take that responsibility nobody else will do it for us. I hope more ways of helping them will open up in many parts of the world
