So, I posted a gig on fiverr, yet another expansive sea of numerous people seeking a living.

I did my best to distinguish myself from those in my category -- using a deck of my own creation; including some nice artwork with the readings; keeping it simple... But any advice in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Since the push to finally join one of these sites came from a steemit comment (thanks @rainbowme) -- and because I love steemit so much...

I've been on Fiverr quite a while now. I can say it takes time like steemit but once you get good reviews from a customer, an order will continuously flowing. I wish you luck on that Fiverr ocean. My advice is to set the price with interesting offer.
Thank you. ^_^
What do you mean by "set the price with interesting offer"? Like add other things to the higher priced options?
yes :) add more things to the higher priced options. I've just checked your option maybe with the premium you can go with 20 or 25$ instead of 15$ and additional one day delivery for 5$.
I personally prefer the additional option to be cheaper than my main gig offer. I think diversifying your gig will be another idea. What about ghostwriting? Have you considered this option?
Interesting point, I'll adjust the add-on prices now. I don't know what other things I could add though... it's a pretty simple gig... hmm...
I haven't considered ghostwriting as I know nothing about it (apart from the google search I'm about to conduct). I generally lack the qualifications required for writing gigs... They often seek people with degrees and/or extensive experience.
okay here's a secret " fake it till you make it" - I don't have a degree just yet. My degree is still ongoing, but my gig is around business copywriting. :D
The first thing I did was reading through google extensively till now I finally figure things out. I just started Fiverr again a couple of days back after I paused the gig for about five months.
Add your past experiences or art works ( this will be a great help if you're having a portfolio)
I'm not sure what I'd be faking? Ghostwriting? I'd rather not damage my efforts by claiming to be able to do something I can't, then not being able to deliver, or delivering a poor product.
All of the advice I've gotten about referring to work experience says, keep it to the last two years. I've been out of the workforce since 2010.
I see if that's in your case. I personally have worked before in the same field. So it was an experience and a portfolio. So practically, I worked with a friend before going into the fiverr. Then I got into the gig with 90% of how things work. The rest as I said, browsing extensively and researching.
Still best of luck to you. And build a portfolio.
Hi, stopping by to wish you luck and suggest also putting up a graphic design gig & put up samples of your art in your profile. I hope everything turns out for the better. :]
Thank you. ^_^
Coming up a unique graphic design gig is a bit tricky. My skills in this area are still fairly basic, meaning long production times and uncertain results. I'm simply not sure what I could offer...
Level up your skills and offer more gigs! There are free graphic design courses online at https://www.Udemy.com
What?! I had no idea they offered free courses.... I thought it was all pay-per or subscription based. Well, thanks for the tip. I'll go see if they have any for logo design or something. ^_^
