Bitcoin has a dysfunctional governance model because the majority block producers in control of it don't want to hold it. They want to sell it today, for the most part. Whats more is many of its developers don't hold much of it either. Bitcoin owners have very little say, except for being able to crash the market if the miners lose the confidence of the market.

I think we can all think of a certain project that has better solutions to governance, where stakeholders elect block producers in a sort of crypto-republic.
