The Most Important Thing for Photo/Video Success - After 12 years of observation!

in #life7 years ago

It's been almost 13 years since I graduated from the New York Film Academy and the New York Institute of Photography. I've seen many classmates go on to be film makers in Hollywood, producers, actors, tech support and independent film makers. I've also seen a lot of my classmates give up on the dream and go back to the 9-5. I've seen some end up broke. Some sadly, have passed. Some have gone into oblivion never to be seen again. In fact, the majority didn't do much with their Film/Acting/Producing/Directing degrees. But there are some that made it. There are some that created businesses. There were some success stories. And out of all the skills that I could attribute as the #1 determining factor of the ones that succeeded vs the ones that failed...it would have to be this one thing...

I guess you'll have to watch the video to find out :)

Step outside your comfort zone, you may find it’s not as uncomfortable as you built it up to be!

Keep on inspiring!

look I’m example one,

  • Where am I going? No idea but I’m hanging on for the ride.
  • How’d I start? Just did it, thanks to you!
  • What have I achieved? Growth, friendship, new skills, found a passion I did not know I had.
  • Will I be big? Only if those who follow me choose I am deserving and that is the best motivation anyone could have.

My father has always said he is proud of my resourcefulness, cannot forget this part of success. Everyone will be knocked around but finding the resources you need to jump that hurdle will make the difference on how you recover for the next one.

Work hard, so true i totally agree. Not only in Photo/Video but in everything. Work smart is second. Sometime its good to take break to just stop and think about next few moves to dont waste your hoard work to sometking useless.

Very true! Applies to everything in life as well :) and it’s a great idea to take a break once in a while to reflect
