Ahhh, Monday… there it is again. A new week, new chances to completely mess everything up! But hey, if you keep your expectations low enough, you can only be pleasantly surprised, right?
This past weekend, we had a very special guest: Sammie! That adorable little four-legged ball of hyperactivity. But this time, she didn’t just drop by for a quick visit—nope, she packed her tiny overnight bag and stayed for a sleepover. Super fun, of course! Well… for us, anyway. The neighborhood cats had a slightly different experience.
Let’s just say there’s at least one cat out there now suffering from an identity crisis and a lifelong fear of small, fluffy dogs. But listen, Sammie really just wanted to make friends. I think. Or maybe she briefly transformed into a monster, and we missed it. Either way, that cat can now confidently say its neck hairs are in perfect working order, and its jumping skills are Olympic-level. Who knows, maybe it has a future in competitive high-jumping.
And now… Monday. Am I ready for it? Meh. Maybe. Maybe not. But at least the sun is shining, though that’s a bit of a double-edged sword. Yes, sunshine is nice. No, temperatures that make you sprout razor-sharp weapons as soon as you step outside are not. Looks down at chest … Yep, two ice-cold daggers, locked and loaded.
Thankfully, I’ve got four new books waiting for review, so my strategy for the week: curl up in my favorite reading spot on the couch as often as possible. Because let’s be honest, if the choice is between “being productive” or “reading marathon with tea and snacks,” the decision practically makes itself.
So here’s to a week filled with books, tea, shivers, and hopefully no more traumatized cats. Happy Monday, everyone! 😆
