As a person involved in marketing and selling almost all my life, I had to try to understand why people react and do, what they do. What are the "triggers", what are their "red buttons" for or against something. The most interesting and probably most accurate approach to summarize this is called "holarchy".
nope, I don't believe in a flat earth ;-)
At this point, I will probably have lost already the biggest part of my readers, so I have to explain some basics first. A holarchy is a system composed by holons. A holon is both, a part and a whole at the same time. Sounds strange, but we find that in a multitude of things. As example: a cell. A cell is the smallest form of life. It can replicate on its own and is therefore "whole" and independent, but most of the time it's also "part" of a bigger system. Without the cell, the system would not work properly.
The personality of a human is also a holarchy. Everything is part of a "whole" and thus important. You can't take away parts, without destroying the whole. If you want to change your personality, you have to "wrap" it into something bigger, a new toolset. If you are interested in this, you'll find only scarce information, the most understandable authors about this topic may be Ken Wilber and Arthur Koestler. But you'll probably have to read also Stephen Hawking, Heisenberg and Einstein. I will not claim, that I came near understanding their work, but what I understood was the following:
There is no dualism (only in the IT 01010101 ). Yes and No / black and white / right and wrong are very oversimplified terms for us people to grasp the world. Most of the time we have a perhaps/ gray / "it depends". Heisenberg has been proven "right" with his "Uncertainty principle", also Einstein has been proven "right" with his "theory of relativity"...
... BUT they contradict, even exclude or eliminate each other.
Let's keep that in mind, diving into philosophic phsychology and the development of personality. Every try to grasp "reality" or "truth" will remain a poor attempt of a system to better understand something.

Like every good idea, the idea of holarchy in human development has a history. It was initially created by Clare W. Graves and copyrighted as "spiral dynamics" by Don Beck. Here it became a theory designed for managers and politicians to better understand and in the end channel human behaviour. Imho this is utterly wrong for it should help people understand themselves and each other on a completely different level than it is usual today.
Let's now skip through the basic thoughts:
The stades of development are roughly assigned to colours. Depending on the system, these colours might vary, but I am sure, you'll get the idea.
1) beige
When a baby is born, it is stubborn, selfcentered, almost parasitic. It cannot live without others and does not care about others. The only purpose is to survive and to get what it wants / needs as fast as possible. Fortunately there is nothing more cute and adorable than a baby and fortunatley this state does not last too long. About 100 000 ago this probably was the normal state of humans. No thoughts about "tomorrow", no real awareness of "self"
2) purple
This is the the state of "magic self". Religions like vodoo become favorable. About 40 000 years ago this was the result of tribes. It was important to protect agains "others", nature and ghosts etc. Everybody outside the tribe was percieved as an "enemy" and thus dangerous.
1-3 year old kids are in this state today. You may know kids with unvisible friends. Even the tendency to treat unanimated things as living ones is rooted in this state. And of course everybody outside of Mom/Dad and perhaps a sibling is considered evil and dangerous, at first.
3) red
This state began about 10 000 years ago. The "red self" is not really thinking about tomorrow. Red is a warrior, brave and strong. Stories about heroes give the "red self" confidence and energy. The motto is "the strongest will survive". Reds favorite tool is anger, violence and threatening of violence. We see this state in 3-6 years old kids and later in puberty. The red toolset has to be overcome with better working tools. If a red-self is not invited, but forced to use other tools, there is a danger of remaining there for a lifetime. For this kinds of reds, honour is more important than life. He still reacts in a self centered way, they want respect and if thats not possible they want to be feared. Here starts the real dilemma between inviting and forcing into the next level of the holarchy. Forcing into the next level will not work as it could and imho should.
4) blue
The state of blue starts about 5000 years ago and is described as the "mythical self". Thinking about tomorrow and delayed gratification becomes important. The group becomes more important in relation to the individual. For this kind of discipline is a strong and rigid set of rules key. Rules become more important than anything, but altruism also becomes "a thing". The blue is the first to overcome the "chaos" that ruled with the mostly red people before. Now it was possible to develop real societies, bigger than tribes.
Unfortunately this opened the doors for fundamentalism and gave birth to the concept of sin and penance. Following rules is "good" and not following them is "bad". Nothing in between. This concept of rigid rules still works fine for bootcamps, anonymous alcoholics or sects. It is much easier to see the world in black and white, thus people following such concepts feel "happy". The danger of this is again the difference between inviting and forcing people into "blue".
Blues tend to have no selfdoubts and so totalitarian beliefs and dictatorship have an easy way with people in the blue state.
Interesting: Soldiers tend to be blue, not red!
Until today the blue state is the desired state for "rulers" or "the state" because it is the easiest one to manage and control. As example the whole school system is designed to "produce" blue people (pun intended).
5) orange
This state is only about 300 years old and started during the western enlightenment. Rationality and science became important. Freedom and the search for happiness, the base for what the US used to be where its result. Progress and overcoming of gender/skincolours started evolving. People try to be logic and rational. The thinking tends to be non dual and in probabilities instead of "yes" and "no". Other than the blue, the orange thinks, that egoism is a good thing ... as long as noone else is harmed. Thus the orange has a lot of fun in life and pushes progress to never known limits.
The downside of orange, or "scientific self" is the way how to achieve this state. "The state" developed and instead of inviting "blue selfs" into knowledge and freedom, conform to their former rulesets and/ or beliefs, people were forced into school, military, taxsystems, frontiers and all the other crap "blue-selfs" believed to be needed to become orange. This underpinned blue and prohibited oragne. The orange self is the first one to really think on a global scale.
6) green
This is called the "empathic self" and it's only about 50 years old. Greens are quite happy with orange, the scientific self but they strongly believe that there must be "more". Empathy, tolerance, harmony, beauty become the more important thing. Now here we have a very big social problem because people develop from orange to green for two very different reasons: Satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
There are the ones that cannot really grasp logic and science and therefore "skip" the orange state, all the while understanding that "green" could be a preferable state. And there are those who fully get their part of science and logic and search for "more".
The first ones you can find e.g. among the virtue signaling social justice warriors, those who TALK about being good and forcing others in being good as well. The second ones are those who offer and invite to alternatives and solutions based on facts.
One could try to summarize:
- orange: outer world = search for truth
- green: inner world = search for beauty
The very positive thing about greens is, that they understand and at least try to respect the downsides of competition.
The downside of greens is almost all the time, that they forget about the stades 1-5 and their meaning and impact on their own "Self"
7) yellow
Yellow is the first state where the all the states before become fully aware and accepted as "normal" and as important parts of the whole. Most people reaching this state of personal development therefore naturally switch from being demanding into being offering persons. In this state people do not any more judge from a moral standard but from a useful point of view.
Real yellows understand, that it is not important to get everybody to the "highest state", but that everyone has its place and its importance in this holarchy. Constant change and a certain chaos is accepted as normal. The yellow can understand what everybody needs. Therefore most sucessful businessmen are yellow.
The downside of not anymore submitting to moral but useful standards is that it could be seen as useful to sacrifice the bottom to strenghten the middle class (like in Nazi Germany and the Holocaust) OR to sacrifice the top thinkers who could critizise the system of powers that benefits most ( like in Stalins Russia or North Korea today) for the same reason. Or to resettle millions of red/blue developed middle easterners into orange/green Europe. (only speaking of averages and in general here)
Most politicians believe themselves yellow, but most aren't. Voting in general has a tendency to prefer red/blue or orange/green personalities. A really yellow mind would not take part in something as profane as being a politician.
Another downside of the yellow is the tendency to stereotyped thinking and forgetting about the fluent development through the different states. A yellow will fall easily in the trap of saying: "This one is a red guy, we have to show him the benefits of blue rules". Unfortunately this is not how this development works.
8) turquoise
Only very few people reach this state (even in parts this is really, really difficult to grasp). Turquoise is the colour of the "Integral Self". This state is only reachable through constant spiritual training. The Turquoise detaches from objects and becomes an observer, laughing about his own attempts to to change the world.
Unfortunately it is totally fruitless to try to explain this state, because it is as describing sounds to a deaf person, or colours to a blind person.
9) coral
This state is at the moment only theoretical and noone can explain how this will turn out to be. Even if someone reaches this level or already has reached this level, he/she would not be able to explain it to others.
this is a screenshot of a youtube video made by Oliver Heuler, most of these ideas can be found in German language there and I recommend to invest these 45 min to get a better understanding of this system.
Why I wrote this long post?
I want to invite everyody to "paint" a picture of him/herself with the colours that are available due to this system.
My goal in this is to raise self awareness and understanding of self and others. I paint myself as follows:
1% turquoise 12% yellow, 18 % green, 29% orange, 19% blue, 11% red 6% purple, 4% beige
80% inviting 20% demanding
I can't draw, perhaps someone is inspired to use this as basic for a drawing. I would love to see the results!
(Probably I overestimate myself. Most people have a tendency to do so)
I really hope that I can raise awareness in the difference of being demanding and inviting. I really try to get less demanding since several years and it's really hard at times. It' near impossible if you are not aware of the difference!
THX for reading
Let me please know how you judge yourself!
Yours

This is like chakras!! I love this post. I took some notes. I feel like I am 30% turquoise 20%coral 20% orange 30% red without much thought !
would be interesting to find out anything about coral ;-)
50% enlighted, 20 % sientific and 30 % agressive sounds like a very interesting mix
Wel done and perfect work my dear friend...

Cheers~~~😃😃😃😃😃Another wonderful and nice ideas by @pollux.one
Very hard to configure in percentage, since i am always thinking globally and from childhood dreamed to understand coral , not through meditation, but rather another civilization/aliens :) hope it will happen soon. If it will, i will update on steemit guys :)
This is a very informative post about human development. Thanks for sharing. I knew that human beings are holarchy but i did not know how to express it but you have expressed it well. Thank you.
its fantastic post, life will describe and classify with color of raibow, and also you have done it with a systematically called holarchy, thanks for sharing.
Describing the turquoise and coral states is no more (or less) impossible than describing any experience to someone else- you have all the literary tools available to do so, and those states are no more (or less) ineffable than ANY experience.
The difficulty is in determining what information has actually been received.
You are still right, that it's a very different thing to read about something, and to really experience something. As I see it, you can describe turquoise in a hermeneutic, but still scientific way. No describable information available on coral... unless @learninvest-chan will help us out.
PS: I really would like to have a discussion with a person that actually is able to think in 5 dimensions.
I'd think you'd have to be operating in 5 dimensions yourself, and they'd have to be the same 5...yes, I'm being flippant, but, I think, accurate.
P.S.- if you're thinking five-dimensionally, the Earth IS flat.

That was not so long as you made it look very interesting and poured some amazing thought into this one really had a great time reading this :)
thanks for sharing
This is interesting, but I disagree with the description of "green". If you've ever watched how many of these sign holding social justice mobs actually behave when confronted with someone that does not agree, you will want to revise your opinions on them.
I described them as those who skipped orange state. Pseudo wannabe greens :-)
Not sure if I have to revise this opinion.
It was interesting and pretty great reading the post
was enjoying it while reading seems like Green suits
however complications are to be there in all states ,Hope we get over it :)
That was a superb post its cool to learn something out from this very different Thanks for sharing.
good to know that you don't believe in flat earth :) that gave me a sigh of relief lolzz i would need to reconsider to think about myself after reading this post :)
Well this is a nice post, a bit long as it took me a while to read all and understand what you where saying. But i liked it alot.
i like reading this post but to sum it up in percentage that will take time for me it was like reconsidering what is left to be considered :) thanks for this beautiful post !!
i need to explore more of this post thanks for sharing this man !!
