The Silent Killer

in #life7 years ago

The number one cause of death in the United States is Cardiovascular Disease. This can lead to heart attack and strokes in adults everywhere. What actually causes this and what can you do help yourself against this silent killer?
You don't really know until you're an adult with high blood pressure that the decisions you've have made throughout your life are going to catch up to you.

A healthy blood pressure: less than 120/80

How is heart disease, plaque and cholesterol in your blood vessels developing:

As shown in my quick drawing, overtime the orange represents plaque and cholesterol. These develop in our blood vessels from the foods we eat. The more cholesterol in your diet, and the longer you continue to eat that way, the more severe the plaque development. These blood vessels are all over your body including attached your brain and heart. If a blood vessel in your heart gets clogged up, it can no longer supply oxygen to your heart, causing death of cells and a Heart Attack, also known as a myocardial infarction. If this happens in a blood vessel to the brain, this can be a cause of a stroke.

Thus it is obviously extremely important to control the amount of cholesterol you are putting into your body. Remember that you eat to live, you shouldn't live to eat. Eat what makes your body the strongest and healthiest when you can.
