I've always loved the Vox sound, was getting the G2 50w head on Ebay for a great price, but because valves are so costly to maintain here, I wound up getting the VT40+ As it suits my needs better especially for small gigs.
The 12ax7 preamp valve surely warms up the tone right? I have a VOX ToneLab ST increible pedal! it has a preamp valve 12ax7 in it.
Yeah, that single pre amp tube does warm the sound up nicely, it does the same for my Micro Dark.
