I do not usually like promoting retail business. But about a year ago the gas station at the entrance to our neighborhood closed. (If i remember correctly it was a BP) anyways we knew that another gas station was going to take it over just didnt know which one.
To me gas station are a dime a dozen right, I mean there all the same, the sell gasoline, snacks, beer and cigarettes. So to me it didnt matter which one moved in.
Well Shell moved in. For those of you that are not familiar with shell, there just like everyone else just about 6 cents higher for gas. So about a month ago I was in the shell, (we tend to use it as a grocery store since it is about half mile from the house, you know for like milk bread soda snacks and so forth) anyways they had this displayed pushed over in the corner of the store by the drink machine. Where they had it it was kinda hard to see.
Well come to find out it was a fuel rewards card application. (Not a credit card application)
I will explain how this card works since you probably will not find an employee that will. Basically for every $20 you spend you get 5 cents off on gasoline. But wait there is a hidden seceret to this card.
Any size fountain drink or coffee will get you 5 cents off a gallon of gasoline. So since i just cant survive on my way to work with out coffee, why not get it from shell and save on gasoline. I mean i was already stopping every morning for coffee. Let me tell you this I wish I had this card years ago. Now there is one catch to this card you can only get a maximum of 20 gallons of gasoline at a time. But as you can see from the following picture that it is worth finding this card and using it.
I will end with this. I do not work for shell or represent shell in anyway.
Thats right 3 cents a gallon is what I paid for gasoline this morning
Thats also correct 78 cents for 20 gallons of gasoline
