Too many tabs!!

Why do people keep changing the means of communication?

Back when I started crypto, it was all about SLACK. I never heard of slack before but I joined for the steemit.chat. That's where all cool kids were! Also: best decision ever as I met so many interesting cool whales ( kidding! ). And as I discovered the world of crypto, more and more slacks appeared on my horizons. It wasn't fun but at one point I had about 17 different slack accounts. Horrible!... BUT at least they were all in the same tab!

Later, Telegram appeared on the horizon. The new IT place to be in crypto and once again, it was a boom of new channels as they call it. Each crypto project and their mother had a Telegram channel and a few more just for fun. Why not. Before I knew it I had about 100 different tabs with convos. The best part was that you could just have it all in one tab that was easy to access.
At this point, I haven't used Slack in months. Good bye!

These days, I see a very sad trend: DISCORD is the new kid on the block. Everyone has a discord. Each discord has 100 channels and threads. There's even a damn audio section where people "talk" instead of "chat". NO! Chatting is sacred, laughing like monkeys with the headsets on is NOT.

Anyway, people keep trying to get me in discord. I hate it. I don't want it.
I don't want one more tab.
I don't want one more app.
I don't want one more account.
I just do not want!

Let's all be friends on telegram and forget that other stuff exist.

PS: Of course, I had to make accounts cause some things are good on there and some people are only there now. I am weak. :(

Back in the days I used ICQ. Everyone had it and you could use many different clienta. I loved Miranda. Also the app could do more than most of the messaging apps/providers today. ICQ and IRC was a combo that satisfied me for the long time. When most of the people moved to Facebook/messager it was a big disappointment because it could... well just send plain text and a few smileys. These days you need like 5 messaging apps to stay connected with everyone.

Oh yeah ICQ and IRC days were epic... I quit ICQ after aol bought it out and ruined it :/

a/s/l?

never used this. I started my chatting life with mIRC!!

Never used this? I question if you ever really used mIRC

"But mooooooom I don't wannnaaaaaaaa" :)))) you sound like cartman :P

Anyone remembers powwow ? First time I heard the voice of Hal :)

Fuck discord. I am not on telegram neither. We can comment to each other here. That's it.

Nice!
I also didn't want a new tab, but gave it a try and now I have closed some other tabs. In the end it's all about choices and engagement. Discord and some of the groups engage me in a way that I wasn't on other mediums.
