Bigfoot doesn't exist

in #life7 years ago

I have always been intrigued by the amount of people reporting things such as Bigfoot, UFO's and the Loch Ness monster. Even though I do not believe in any of these things, I still find it entertaining to watch documentaries and videos. I have never found anything that even remotely made me believe Bigfoot exist.

Where is the creature?

Reported sighting of Bigfoot have ranged all across the United States. Every State has had a report at one time or another. So this leads to three possibly conclusions.

  • Either there is 1 Bigfoot that travels a lot.
  • There are multiple Bigfoots.
  • Or that people are simply mistaken or lying.

This is an map taken from http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/21/bigfoot-sightings-map-josh-stevens_n_3967703.html

On point number 1, no animals have a range as extensive as the entire United States. Even birds who migrate do not occupy every State. The conditions vary greatly between regions, going from extremely cold, extremely hot, extremely wet and extremely dry. Animals are built generally to survive 1 habit and often can't survive in others.

This leads me to point number 2. Maybe there are multiple Bigfoot out there? To have the amount of reported sightings, you would have to have hundreds of Bigfoot. As the number of Bigfoot increases, the odds of one being captured or caught on video would greatly increase.

Point 3, people like attention. People also need to make sense of unexplained things. Our mind wants to rationalize things we don't understand and attempt to make them make sense. I believe the majority of sighting are simply mistaken identity. Someone sees a bear in the forest and it happens to be standing on it's hind legs. From a distance it may resemble the mythical creature Bigfoot. Shadows in a forest can change as the sun moves. What once looked like a dark figure hiding, could turn out to be a tree trunk. I saw a show on T.V. where they were analyzing physical evidence of Bigfoot. One man on the show told them investigators that he was bear hunting. He saw a mother and baby Bigfoot. He shot the baby and killed it. Fearing he would get in trouble he buried the body. The investigators asked to be taken to the grave. When they got there, the body had been scavenged but some hair remained. They took the hair back and did testing. It came back as Bear hair. The man who was a hunter, hunting bears, either completely did not know what a bear looked like and shouldn't have been hunting at all, or he was completely lying. He was crying on the show after they announced the finding. He swore up and down he thought it was a Bigfoot.

Other people are simply looking for fame or wealth. A few years back two police officers lost their job after claiming and attempting to sell a Bigfoot body. They froze a gorilla suit in a black of ice. Some company was going to buy it from them for something like 30,000 dollars. The company obviously wanted proof of what they were buying. Once the ice melted a gorilla suit was discovered, they were fired for fraud.

Why can't we find them?

If there really are Bigfoots around why can't we find them? Everyone has a cell phone with a camera. Most people have pretty good cameras on their phone. But we get really bad videos with no real proof of anything. The amount of trail cameras have increased many times over in the last decade. But somehow these cameras never catch a Bigfoot by accident? We have satellites in the sky that can take pictures of just about anywhere on Earth, but these have never photographed a Bigfoot? Pretty much every store or parking lot has security cameras yet they have never caught a Bigfoot? Police use infrared cameras to track criminals in wooded areas but have never found a Bigfoot hiding in the woods? Are Bigfoot the only mammal not warm blooded? Perhaps they are not mammal? No Bigfoot has ever been accidentally hit crossing a road. No one has ever found any shelters or caves where a creature of this size would need to live.

Reproduction

All animal species need to have a large group to continue to thrive. When populations are small, disease or bad luck could kill an entire species off. So for Bigfoot to exist and to continue to thrive, there would have to be many Bigfoots around. Again creating more possibilities of evidence being found.

Bigfoot simply can't exist

If you look at the evidence, it becomes clear there simply is no way a Bigfoot can exist. 50 years ago, when technology was limited, I might be able to believe that the possibility existed. But with today's technology, its just not possible to exist and not have some proof or evidence.
