Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12 NIV
https://psalm.bible/psalm-90-12
Yesterday, April 28, was my 21st birthday! Yeah, and I am entering the second score of my life (1 score year = 20 years). My "liability" days were over, and now I'm in my "asset" days. The transition period might be hard but let's do this. With God, nothing is impossible!
Me through the years. Lol😂
Life is good. Full of ups and downs, left and right, but still is good.
We sometimes arrive at a situation when we almost just want to give up. But still, we are blessed. Though we may encounter such great difficulties in our life, the future is not for us to see. God is in control and we are hopeful that he controls it not us (Kevin DeYoung). Our hope is in God, and we trust Him in everything we face.
Our days are fleeting. Our time is moving forward at great speed.
Yesterday I am ten, now I'm twenty-one. Who knows, if the Lord wills, tomorrow I'll be sixty. Now because our days are fleeting, what should we do? Most of may not notice this, but it is true. Our time is very limited. We are like a plant that grows in the morning and withers in the night. Time flies so fast. Most of us might think that we have done so much and think that all matters is what we visually achieve and not on the things unseen, which are eternal. We might do the things we do and think that in doing so makes us fulfilled and satisfied, yet in the end, we are missing the biggest point in life.
In the verse I quoted from the very word of God, it says that may God teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom. We advance in life, and we grow old. But how much of us are growing in wisdom? As I have noticed among men around me, when they grow up it is not the wisdom that also grows with them but pride. They become proud of what they have done or achieve. But what matters is the humbling wisdom that we acquired through the years, the wisdom that which God has given us through the times of trusting in His ways.
Excited for the second score? Yes!
Am I excited at this time of my life? Yes! There will be great things that will happen in the second score, as what our ministry leader told us. In this mature phase, most people would be focusing on their career and setting up a family. Great! But all of this things are possible with God. With Him alone, I confidently walk in this journey.
Soli Deo Gloria
