When we dream, we turn into a child again. Because dreaming is something that children are freely allowed to do. Whereas in adulthood, dreaming usually has a negative connotation. Daydreamer; someone who dreams their life away or wastes their time. But dreams are the starting points for new adventures. If we turn them into reality. Otherwise, dreams are just empty visions, remnants of a could-have-been life. So what can be done to make a dream come true?
A dreamy childhood
How do dreams form? True dreams and desires are shaped when we are little. Our spirit can still dream in the unrestrained young age. Without prescriptions from society. It is also the duty of parents to protect their children from these constraints. But this is not so easy when one is under the same constraints.
If it is not possible to limit the child's imagination and creativity, the ideas are perhaps somewhat unrealistic, but all the more important for development. They give orientation and motivation. If you wanted to become an astronaut or a princess as a child, the direction will remain into your adulthood, but continues to develop. We are looking for content-related goals. The princess turns into a fashion designer, the astronaut into a pilot. We translate childhood dreams into more ‘realistic realities’. Things that are truly utopian remain bittersweet longings. Bitter because they are utopian. Sweet, because they are linked with beautiful thoughts. Some dreams, however, can come true. If we make them:
1 Make a wish
We have many dreams. Some of them are ours, others have been forced on us by others – our parents, our partner, the people in our life, and by society. Some are even created by marketing executives. In order to find out which dreams are actually our own, it is a good idea to write all of your dreams down and think about which ones of them you really want. Is this my dream or am I trying to live someone else’s dream?
2 Take a little time
These could be important moments which become turning points in your life. Get involved with what you want to achieve. Start today, preferably in writing. You bundle your life and energy through goals, in order to achieve success.
3 Turn your dream into a goal
Goals grow out of wishes and dreams. If you don’t set yourself goals, you leave your success and the fulfillment of your wishes to chance. Much too risky!
In order to turn a dream into reality, you have to turn it into achievable goals. Set yourself meaningful targets and write them down. A meaningful target is specifc, positively formulated and reads as if you had already reached it. Next Monday I will have come home from my first gym workout session. By putting these thoughts into your mind you will be more likely to see them through.
3 Re-examine
Especially at the beginning it is particularly effective to reflect on your goals again and again. Set aside one day a week, when you take the time to re-evaluate your goals. Priorities shift and goals will change. Look for even better formulations and follow the steps on your journey to the destination.
4 Create a vision
Think about how it could be and enjoy the positive feelings that arise from it. Imagine yourself wandering through wild jungles in India or scuba-diving with dolphins in the Carribean. Imagine yourself doing and being in the situation. A clear vision and a strong image of the desired goal give strength and motivation every day to work towards fulfilling the dream.
5 Be consistent
Make sure to work regularly on your goals and deal with your future. You might face a few setbacks; realising a dream is not a straight line. More often than not, it will be a winding road. But one that is worth travelling on. Every turn you take will get you closer to achieving your dream.
You will be amazed how your actions and thoughts will turn more and more into the direction towards realising your dream. Within a short time you will notice what you have already achieved. This then triggers motivation for further development.
Always remember: Dreaming is free.
Good post....starting to follow my own dreams after a bit of misfortune, its amazing with a change of thought and focus how clear we can become on what we want to achieve in life
Nothing is out of our reach, set your goals small and have a bigger picture....all will become clear with in time, stick on that path and you will end up with success
Keep up the good work @livethedream0208
Thank you @livethedream0208! I hope things will work out for you :)
This is a really cool post and great advise.
Tomorrow's goal- try manifest dreams into goals!
Thank you @tjnorton! Glad you liked it :)
@restlesswanderer Thanks for this. I've always been a dreamer.
Thankfully it has paid off for me. But, when I was young so many people told me I was crazy or stupid (some of my friends still think I'm wasting time dreaming about some of my current projects).
Seeing a post like this makes me feel good that other people feel it's OK to just dream.
Thanks a bunch for the post!
Hi @jfgrissom! Without dreamers the world would not move forward. I'm glad you enjoyed my post and keep on dreaming :)

Very nice "How To". @restlesswanderer can I ask you to take part in this challenge... Well I guess it's not a challenge but just a guide to help one another realize our dreams. I created #DreamsComeTrue as a support group sort of. A place where we can teach and learn from each other as our dreams come true.
You can check it out here too: https://steemit.com/freedom/@senorcoconut/a-guide-to-making-dreams-come-true
