We felt really lucky because the wind typically heads northwest which would have pushed the fire towards us but instead it headed the opposite direction. Seeing a fan ban at least once a year isn't unusual. I later found out that the fire ban had been lifted two days prior to the fire but it made no sense because we hadn't gotten any rain and everything was so still so dry. We haven't seen any official reports but it sounds like it may have been smcaused by someone welding. -Aimee
