I just had this thought and I felt like sharing it with everyone. Often times, leading brands worldwide go about being afraid of existing competition or possible spring up of a new competition that they fail to do what they ought to do to protect themselves from the threat of competition.
There are ways to be on top of competition which I would rather encourage any brand to follow. Competition is not only restricted to big brands, there is also a competition amongst individuals or group of people. Even here in steemit, there is a level of competition. We are all competing to earn better upvote via the writing of engaging articles. Competition is competition.
Be Far On Top
To be on top of competition, you need to be exceptionally good in what you are doing and you need to be working daily as though the business just started. Everyday should be a starting date for the company.
The best way to discourage your competition from moving forward is to be so far ahead of them that they will be discouraged from trying. When you have gotten to this stage, you are not yet there. You will then need to work more than your competition for further growth.
In all, give your competition such a gap that they will be discouraged from pursuing you and continue to advance as though you have not achieved anything.
The Google Example
Google is a living example of how to frustrate competition. Google has advanced so much that the next in line competition is not fit to be called a competition. Goolge research and development is still advancing with speed as if they have not even started.
Can you compare yahoo and bing with google? Those are no competition at all. If care is not taken many of them will be forced to go under.
Finally
In life, be exceptionally good in what you are doing and continue to work hard to improve on the excellence and you will not have to worry about competition.

Really true, it takes one big mistake from a company so far ahead and the competition actually stands a chance of surpassing them. Always have to keep the consumer happy - no matter how much big you are than your competitor :)
I like the google example. Thanks for this.
Thanks for those iron rigid advice.

It's funny. My top earning post of all time narrates the value of Non-Competitiveness haha! I guess in a way it's the complete opposite of this. Nice to read about a contrary viewpoint though.
