What Are The Functions Of The Wrist ?

The wrist has a different function with the bone motion of the other, but almost the same with the ankle. Here are the functions:

1. As A Tool The Motion Of The Hand

In between the bones which compose the wrist there is a rigid joint that allows movement to occur on a limited basis. While the joint that connects the wrist with the palm of the hand are the joints of the saddle. The movement that can be done the wrist is the movement of the marginal such as the movement towards the bone of the thumb and fingers of the hand.

Movement can also be performed, namely the movement in the field of the hand as palmar flexion, i.e. movement oblique to the direction of the palm of the hand and extension that is oblique motion to the back of the hand. Movement palmar flexion is stronger than extension movement.

2.The Place Of Attachment Of Muscles Of The Hand

Muscles of the hand are part the most important muscle because it is connected with the major muscles of the body. Muscles of the hand extrinsic that can be menggerakaan hand the lower part including the wrist located in the forearm or parallel with the circumference of the lower abdomen. Muscles extrinsic to stick up to the wrist.

There are two types of muscles in the wrist, namely the extensor muscles and flexor muscles. The two muscles allows a variety of movements occur assisted by a rigid joint and the joints of the saddle that connects around the wrist bone.

3.The connecting Finger Bones and the Bones of the Base of the Arm (Distal)

The wrist consists of the bones round and short. This arrangement forming the wrist or carppal that connect the bones of the fingers with the bones of the base of the arm or the distal. Such a relationship is known as a connection or articulation that is composed of the articulation of the radiocarpal and the articulation of the midcarpal.
