Id say its a terrible place to learn, the locals speak Catalan and the amount of tourists and immigrants is very high. For your next trip to Spain I recommend the south, more traditional Spain with plenty to do and lots of good night life! (From a spaniard)

Well...I think its easy to understand the spanish spoken in Catalonia thant in the south. In Catalonia our accent is more accurate and clever than in the south.
