@amvanaken here on behalf of @rockymtnsteem community with a crypto-related rant/discussion for ya! Over the past few weeks and months, I have been slowly weening my social media following off of fiat, and onto crypto.
And I couldn't be happier or more proud of the free-thinkers who have decided to take my advice. I truly have more confidence and faith in cryptocurrency, and it's a really awesome feeling knowing that there is something out there which can potentially save us all.

As you could have guessed, there are many people out there who claim that cryptocurrencies (mainly bitcoin) are all a part of the New World Order scam we've all been sold.
This is personally hilarious to me, because I have many questions for that. Why would a financially eslaving system create something unstoppable which would no doubt change countless of lives for the better? Why wouldn't they immediately buy as many BTC at the price of $1 in January 2009? Why would they allow us to hold BTC if it's really great, and they want the world impoverished? Ironically, if you youtube "Bitcoin NWO Scam" (which is what somebody told me to youtube because they were a skeptic), you literally find a video made by a gold salesman, and it's not Peter Shillft.

I personally think that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are as disruptive as some buckshot to the stomach.
I think that every cent you have in cryptocurrencies is empowering yourself and others, whereas, every "dollar", or "euro", etc, that we own is empowering the system which created that "note", and also the people behind it, as well as the ideaology behind it. That ideaology is the idea that the government can outsource the money supply to whoever or what ever they want. That all changed for people in the USA when President Woodrow Wilson (also a douchebag) signed the Federal Reserve Act, and thus financially enslaving a whole country to a private bank. But now, we have a different option ahead of us. We can now selectively place our energy into different financial systems. Lately, I have been selling bitcoin for fiat right before I need to pay for something. Yes, it sounds like a pain in the ass, but I don't want to have to be in the fiat system any more than I need to be.

This is the exact kind of attitude everybody needs to adopt.
If you don't support what is going on, you shouldn't partake in it any more than you need to. I know @lpfaust is trying to stay as low-key as possible but he is such a revolutionary dude and I wanted to quote him hear so you can see where we're coming from in our local community. We are brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, cousins, ants and uncles. We are the 99% fighting with our wallets. We are going full steem ahead into the future, putting our faith in unstoppable systems which will outlive us. Come to our meetup on Saturday and see what we're all about! I love your thoughts here. Good amount of info - I am not holding anything as of the moment except what I have in Steem Power - because I have too many expenses. What i can say is that I;m getting paid more in Steem for what I do in the community and the quality I provide than my daytime work (actually i'm in the night shift). The cost of living here is lower so minimum wage is just around 10USD.
I wish to try and empower people here with Steem. They have tons of things to provide and they can make a living here more so than what they can make breaking their backbones for a meager minimum wage. I support crypto.
If we can get a Steem Wallet taht directly converts to fiat without going through BTC then that will be a very good advantage. Or if we can get Steem adapted by a lot of people then that entirely removes the step of converting things to BTC or fiat and we can just transact with Steem. This space is providing lots of different projects and opportunities for tons of different people. There's even a 19 year old kid in the Trending section who wants to build his own city based in Crypto.

You’re so right I think the ability to immediately convert to fiat from Steem or Steem Dollars would be huge. What I like to do is sometimes invest my Steem Dollars into other cryptos slowly.
I do that sometimes before converting to fiat via btc. I try some arbitrage and day trading. Sometimes it plays well, sometimes it doesn't. :D
