I am not a Physician. I did this experiment on myself, at my own risk. Do not attempt this based on my experience.
You may have seen or heard commercials for testosterone treatments and supplements. They stated things like; as you age your levels go down leaving you less "sharp", confident, low libido and feeling rundown. Being at retirement age, it was likely I was a candidate for this treatment. So, I had a friend that was using a prescribed topical cream for testosterone treatment. The instructions and dosages were clearly marked on the packaging, so with their permission, I tried it on myself, at the minimum dosage. After the first day, I noticed on my way home from work, a marked increase in energy and clearer thinking. The couch potato had awoken. After the second day, I was surprised by some flirtations from a couple lady friends. WOW! Was this my imagination? Maybe I was appearing more confident. Perhaps some mysterious pheromone was being released. Should I throw away the Viagra? However , by the third day the Mr Hyde effect had began. He reared his ugly head. I suddenly felt justified in in expressing my irritations and frustrations with some family, friends, and colleagues. This was way beyond my social norm, if you can believe that. Then I developed an extreme crash between doses that would mimic low blood sugar or even a mild hangover. I do believe I could have accomplished the same results with a few good stiff drinks. I had a discussion with my friend about his experience. He too, had noted his increase in anger and aggressive behavior. This is totally anecdotal and unscientific . Never take medications not prescribed to you by a Doctor. On the other hand, my friend suggested we donate his meds to the vegan community. "You know what a bunch of whimps they are." he said. Never mind him, the effects will wear off shortly, we hope. LOL!
