This is one thing which many people are oblivious of...
In more ways than one, this is a very fast way of brewing hatred or sowing a seed of discord amongst a group of people and end up damaging a relationship which otherwise would have been cordial.
What do i mean by this? So many times in our interactions with people, we tend to compare them with other people probably in the quest of trying to make them inprove. Sometimes we say things like 'can't you see how your friend chikamso is always leading in her class', 'see how far chidinma your secondary school classmate has gone in life' and all that.. Most times these sentences are made to motivate them but the reverse is often the case...Unconsciously we not only make them appreciate themselves less but also in most cases damage the relationship he/she has with the other.
As a growing child, this is the main course of problems between siblings and mostly the cause of jealousy among friends.
Each person has a different race to run so we should stop making people feel miserable by comparing their exploits with God to someone else rather than making them enjoy their portion...
And to you out there comparing yourself with others, someone else's success doesn't equate your failure..Comparism is the theft of happiness!
