Effecting A Change

in #life6 years ago

Over the years, we have been made to believe that nothing is as simple; yet permanent as change. But the truth is; some people have aligned themselves with change; instead of initiating the change they want.

Even Isaac Newton's first law of motion affirms to this truth; as paraphrased by me:

Every object (or situation; as the case may be) continues... in a uniform motion, until a change is initiated - Isaac Newton [Paraphrased by me]

Can I tell you this? As long as our existence is concerned, what we experience is nothing more than a summation of continuous changes. And these changes are initiated by the forces of our decisions, action, and inactions. Imagine how life would be if everything is just static; but "change" has given us a purpose of actually living and trying out new risks.

But the thing is; it is our responses to these changes that would define our humanity. Some people would tilt towards the positive response to change, some to the negative response, while some would tow the line of indecision (which is actually a decision on its own) - but in all these; and as humans; we are constantly affected by changes here and there.

But also, we may; as it were; attach and relate some levels of uncertainty to what we perceive as "change". Just like here in Nigeria, story has it that when we switched to left hand drive, there were many reservations by motorists, and they where like - "how da heck would you switch to another driving pattern after decades of driving, do you want to cause road catastrophe?..." But in the long run, we have come to realize that it was actually a righteous idea.

But most importantly, "change" doesn't fall from oblivion; it is initiated by people, and if you refuse to initiate the type of change you desire, then you would be subject to the dictates of someone else's change. So it is our absolute prerogative to chart the particular course we want to trail.

Peace on y'all

Most new challenges seem impossible until someone conquers them. Sadly today people are getting more and more comfortable with being passive. No great change would happen this way.

Good luck on your roads! 😄

You're right. Nowadays, people are getting more reactive, instead of proactive.

Thanks a lot
